Mrs. Scarp walks by and comments (as she often does): “That’s a pretty guitar!” I agreed and said I was thankful to own it. Mrs. Scarp has been great about our growing collection, and has often encouraged additions. Later on I was viewing some recently posted guitar porn. Mrs. Scarp walks by again and comments on the Earthen Maple Studio. “Wow! …You want one of those?”I don’t even answer. I’ve been keeping a check on GAS, mostly because I’ve been seriously thinking of a custom order for about a year now: Newport w/duotone electronics, no f holes.Today, during a much needed lunch break, I stop by BCR just as Greg opens up two Earthen Maple Studio’s. OMG! Then Victoria hands me a 2008 Hamer Guitar Calendar as I walk out the door. I can’t concentrate on work. I’m leaving early and going back and play ‘em. Maybe they’ll play and sound like sh** and my dilemma will be over.

Got a green light from Mrs. Scarp, but I’m mostly a utility guitar guy.I still want the Newport, but that will be a wait.We’ll see how things settle.I’m taking the wife to dinner and a show. Gonna try and not think about it for awhile.

Ran the rig through the paces. Got some very usable tones. Went to load out for a gig and pulled my back out. Amp is just too heavy for this old man. It still looks and smells new.So I went back to the tried and true Trademark 60.
