BCR Greg Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 I had never seen this sort of thing, so I asked US Masters(the actual builders of Dean USA guitars for the last 10 years) to make me a Flame Maple top Hornet(their SG body set neck)..... This guitar is incredible. Balanced, the factory custom spec Kent Armstrong pickups sound great, TonePros hardware, 5A maple over mahogany(the color is actually more tobaccoburst than cherry burst, the evening sun warmed it up a bit)..... Just plain killer. I have a scarier one on the way(think 61 SG/Les Paul Custom....), and one of them will be mine. Fantastic guitars, great folks at the company that are willing to do unique guitars on a one at a time basis, and this guitar took 4 weeks to get. 4 WEEKS!!!!!! 717.730.9775
Scottcrud Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 What are the neck profiles on the Hornets like?
clmazza Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Beautiful Greg!US Masters make a killer guitar....
BubbaVO Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Good thinking.I love the way the horns look with that maple and the edge of the burst. How about a prototype like that, I wonder if that would look cool - a little binding; magma-molten quilt top; PRS trem; strat scale ... hmmm.....que the dream sequence.
BCR Greg Posted March 28, 2008 Author Posted March 28, 2008 Nice looking SG Supreme. Thanks. Never saw one until your generous posting brought them to my attention.
Boyscout Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 OH MY GAWD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BCR Greg Posted March 29, 2008 Author Posted March 29, 2008 OH MY GAWD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH MY GAWD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY Gawd!!!!!
Hamertoe Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I call for a moratorium on great guitars this instant!! Unless I find a way to buy them all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mindseyes Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Chicks that dont say "NO" are pretty cool too! Some nice stuff there Rev. Greg!I'm gonna have to wait on my custom order for a while because of what followed me home today.....
zorrow Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Would they say "yes" to build a mahogany V, set neck, rosewood fingerboard, 24.75" scale, 22 extra-jumbo frets, chunky neck, no binding, natural finish, non-pointy headstock (that SG looks great to me), Tonepros bridge and tailpiece, two humbucker-sized P-90's (I might want to switch to humbuckers one day), one master tone, two volume controls, graphite nut and Sperzel locking tuners?
HamerHokie Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Chicks that dont say "NO" are pretty cool too!So then the best of both worlds would be a guitar company, run by chicks, who never say no.
