edgar_allan_poe Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 A fellow forumite and I are discussing a deal for an unusual guitar and we need an honest value of it. The guitar is a 1995 3 hole Duotone, goldtop with P90s. I would imagine that there weren't very many of them made. The guitar is in excellent condition with the only issues being some Hameritis along the neck joint and some around the fingerboard, neither of which have any impact on playability. It also has the BCR Duotone mod that eliminates the need for the stereo cable and instead runs two separate output jacks. What do you think guys? Both of us want an honest evaluation that is fair to both parties and then we will take it from there. Thanks for your help.(Poe sits and waits for the first $350 comment LOL!!!)
kizanski Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Ah...the P90 DuoTone.The guitar that launched 1,000 posts.
belgian Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 If you really want it, be prepared to pay more than you can sell it for. A 250 $ more than a regular one seems reasonable.
Camstone Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 Stock 3 hole duotones can be had for around $800, I would say this specimen would be worth $1000 - $1100?
BubbaVO Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I'm w/camstone and the canadian bikini team on this one....
cmatthes Posted March 30, 2008 Posted March 30, 2008 I wouldn't sell the one ('95 Goldtop 3hole P-90) I recently sold for less than $1,000 today if that helps!
Bloozguy Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 I just paid $900 for my '59 Burst 3-holer with the BCR mod. I thought that was a fair price for the condition it's in (excellent+). Since that one's somewhat of a rarity, I'm guessing $1K or more would be fair.
DaveL Posted March 31, 2008 Posted March 31, 2008 Although Hameritis in the neck joint is often harmless but a potentialfuture buyer could get itchy about it. I would subtract a little for it...
