That's a Virtuoso, right?Looks to me to be a Cali w/Maple BoardYup, with what little I know of the subject, I have to agree on the Cali call. You can see the Virt headstock here:http://uk.geocities.com/largeat/virtuo.htmlsk
holLoWskull Posted July 25, 2008 Posted July 25, 2008 Hmmmm????? Do I want it?? or I don't want it??? Hmmmm?? Dear God man don't you have enough Cali's with that recent holoskull elite or is it that since Lady Scary has recently completed the Scary collection you figured you'd keep the Cali market strong
veatch Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 What i don't understand is why doesn't the seller drop a set of pups in the thing and sell it whole? A Cali with a Maple board will definitely fetch some scratch, but a "project" guitar will likely scare off a few bidders.I will say, this is the first maple fretboard i've seen on a Cali... But i don't get out that much...
cmatthes Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I've seen a few maple board Calis, but they are definitely rare. Tommy Shaw played one or two in his Damn Yankees days."Coming of Age" vid link here

But i don't get out that much... That's going to fetch a ridiculous amount of money, pickups or no. I have no interest in it, but if I did, I wouldn't bid less because it didn't have pickups. And I know I say this every time a Hamer like this comes up, but WHY NO BOOMERS?!? -Austin
BlueRedWhite Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Just curious here: Is it ok that the tip of the R in "Hamer" is out of the black "thingy" Isn't the black "thingy" supposed to cover all the headstock front?? This is what i'm talking about Sorry, but i don't remember the terms in english..so "thingy" is ok with a pic

JustKid Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 Completely normal. In fact, a good way to tell it's an USA guitar. And in case of Cali it also means that it was made before 93, if I'm not mistaken from 93 ( or 92) the logo became a bit different without that little piece hanging off of the black.
unfun 75 Posted July 28, 2008 Posted July 28, 2008 And I know I say this every time a Hamer like this comes up, but WHY NO BOOMERS?!? -Austin My thoughts exactly!
JustKid Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I wonder how much would it go for if it had PU's ??
