proxmax Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Wouldn't that be a Custom? Nice chunk of maple.aren't customs glued in?that guitar has some mods made by the owner.
cmatthes Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I think he's waaaay off on his impression of how rare this one is ("one of six"?!?!?!?).I've easily seen a couple dozen just like that one over the years - that was a pretty popular option, since it was a lot like the large format catalog cover guitar. That IS an Elite - the Custom had a set neck.
elduave Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 That dude needs to mix in a paragraph break every now and then.

stonge Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 actually, I bought one just like it years ago (from BCR Music if I remember correctly) that was allegedly a NAMM guitar from 1990 or so. Identical specs; flame body in the same color with the bound fingerboard and the sticker on the backplate that detailed the options and MSRP. My former Cali now resides with another HFC'er - but that is a cool story in itself. I'll let him decloak at his leisure if he chooses to continue the story. Looks like a cool guitar - anybody have photos of the Hamer NAMM booth from 89-90 or so? I wonder how many Calis like that were brought to the show (was that when Kaman bought Hamer or was that earlier/later?)
JustKid Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I do not want to see it anymore!!! it Hurts ! a bound board, SWEET! Hey LS , does that purple reversed cali have a trhee digit number on a back of the headstock, next to the serial? Just curious.
BubbaVO Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Someday...it will be mine. Oh yes... it will be mine.

Confused the hell out of me and Serial for a while until the penny dropped with Steve about the serial number.

Because mine is 017.No, the opposite. The number means it was part of a limited run. If i'm understanding him, Jem's doesn't have the three digit, and it was made in '90. So his was likely a custom order.

My purple sparkly thing was made a year after the special run and as a custom order doesn't have the additional run number as it wasn't part of the actual limited run.
