BruceM Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Yawn...stayed up too late again as usual. Here's a few photos from last night's jam, I'll post more later. Got to meet some new people last night, play some new guitars, and listen to some awsome music! To me, that's what this board is all about. Thanks for a great time last night, guys... BadgerDave always wins the coolest new guitar competition. Here I am modeling the coolest of Dave's new guitars. This one's amazing, folks! BillW & Eric Weston hammering it out. I believe this was during the 5th zep medley. SirDan, mugging for the camera as usual! And tearing up the slide work... And finally, Ted injected new life into the party with a late night appearance. More photos later...gotta run...
hikarateboy Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Yeah, Sorry about pulling in at 11:20. I couldnt miss it although I am sorry I missed Dan and Badger. Thanks Bruce for being such a great host.
Buzzy Fretts Posted March 5, 2005 Posted March 5, 2005 Which Dr Z head were you guys using? Any thoughts?
earachemyeye Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Hey Bruce thanks for another great time. Nice to meet you Eric, that's a beautiful Sunburst you brought over and the black Newport also. Buzzy, somebody else will have to say what models they are, I can't remember. All I know is they have great clean sound and seem to work well with the pedals Bruce has, just not enough knobs or lights for me though LOL. My personal fav of his bunch is the TopHat Club Royale (not for sale). My ears are still ringing but MAN it was tone nirvana down there last night.Joe
BTMN Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 A Knut-Kouppe Shirt!!!! I want one!!!!! Oh man, I'm missing Minnesota a lil. Been a while since I was up there. I need to get up that way soon. I still have my ticket from last summer's hurricane cancelled trip. Looks like good fun as usual.
JES1680 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 I had a great time! There was a DR Z Z28, and another maybe a Ghia? and the Top Hat. They all sounded really good. Dave, I broke down and ordered a set of Lollars for my Artist Korina. You had the best blues tone with that thing.
SouthernShred Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 You Minneapolis boys need to hook up with my buddy Tim O'Brien. He builds O'Brien amps and lives in Fridley. He works at DC Music...long brown hair, mustache...go in and tell him Shannon sent you.
Eric Weston Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 -Dave, I broke down and ordered a set of Lollars for my Artist Korina. You had the best blues tone with that thing. Hey Eric- I almost did the same thing!!!! I checked out Lollar's site but I held firm cuz I've already got three sets of pickups for my P90(now HB) Special. Those pickups(Lollars) sounded pretty good though, I expect I'm gonna buy a pair next week or so.

If there's anyone left in the Minneapolis area that hasn't joined us for one of these, you are missing a great time. Jams at the 4321 are low key, friendly and acommodating to all skill levels and styles. Hell, at this one, several of us switched instruments and invented the "HFC Polka"! There is something special about Jason Lollar's P-90s. They are a particularly good match with the korina Artist. Cream covers only, please.
JES1680 Posted March 6, 2005 Posted March 6, 2005 Oh that's right. Cream covers... Hmmm.... Mine are black just as God (or Joel intended) , but that thread has already been done.
BruceM Posted March 7, 2005 Author Posted March 7, 2005 None blacker...Here's Eric with his Newport Eric & Bro Scott...guys, next time please be aware of the camera! We prefer mugging at the 4321... Warning...the following are late night photos...these people had been at my house for awhile...they...well...you be the judge. Hit it boys! This man can sing! Umm...there's earplugs upstairs, Joe. Bite my apple, please? Hit it! This man owns a Hamer, yet doesnt' post here. What's up with that, Dave? Too much fun! Too much fun, part II! Hope we get a few out-of-towners soon. It's warming up here.
cmatthes Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Bruce - by "warming up", you mean like getting out of the mid-twenties? (Or does that happen in May up there?)One of these days, I'll make that trek...one of these days!(hey Ted! NICE HAT!)

Of course, tomorrow's high will be 30...
Cheap Chick Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 I'm planning on making one of these in lieu of the Midwest Jam - so when does it get in the 60s for real? August? It looks like way too much fun and so many of my favorite folks are there too!

Eric Weston Posted March 7, 2005 Posted March 7, 2005 Cool shots!! Sir Dan's arrival always seems to pick the party up a notch, , Thanks again Bruce- I'm looking forward to the next one. ps. I still think that you should let me take that TopHat off your hands!!
earachemyeye Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 I'll tell ya, Robbie is multi-talented, but when he gets ahold of that apple thing he comes ALIVE. He even played it behind his freeking head!Joe
Cheap Chick Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Bruce - how do you always look so foxy in EVERY one of your pics?? I have NEVER seen a bad photo of you! Wish we lived closer so I could tap into that talent and foxiness and be in a band with you!!! I priced out plane tix from L.A. to Minneapolis and I can go there round trip for $235! So.... when's the next 4321 gig? Can I crash on one of those couches?
BCR Greg Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 There goes getting a good nite's sleep! What were you doing to poor Eric?
robbie Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Thanks Joe!! Does that make me kind of the Jimmi Hendrix of Apple players? By the way its not as easy as it looks I practice all the time. Anyone need any Apple playing lessons? That was a great time!!Thanks again Bruce!! Robb
earachemyeye Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 Oh you're good Robbie, you're GOOD but until you play that thing with your teeth you'll never be a Hendrix apple player. Joe
Eric Weston Posted March 8, 2005 Posted March 8, 2005 There goes getting a good nite's sleep! What were you doing to poor Eric? Well, Joe(earachemyeye) showed up at my house at 5pm with a box o' beers and a new Hamer catalog so um....we had a few and I was three sheets to the wind before we even left for Bruce's place. The fridge at Bruce's magically filled up with Summit EPA sometime during the night and I sure helped to empty it back out.... I don't even remember when that pic was taken I do remember trying not to slur "la-la-Lollar p90"(and failing) so that's when I let up on the booze for the night and sat my drunk ass down. Thanks to whoever brought my favorite beverage!!!! I guess its my turn to buy next time!!

Can I crash on one of those couches? Yesss! An out-of-towner's Mpls jam. Get your tickets now! Pam lets pick a weekend in May, perhaps the 1st or 2nd weekend? It MIGHT be warm enough for you by then. I've also got a spare bedroom upstairs, recently cleaned up for Tiffany's visit , which you're more than welcome to use. And don't worry about me...I've got a lock on my bedroom door, which allows me to protect my foxy honor from the young lady visitors. Anyone else flying in? BTMN? MC Chris? I'll get a date on the books soon, and start planning the menu. I LOVE big parties! Oh, and you can take your pick of these 12vers...

If you look carefully at the black background behind Eric, you'll see the drummer's microphone. That means, to keep from falling down, he was sitting on the drum throne, and simply doing his best drummer impersonation. Everyone's a drummer at the 4321....
