atquinn Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 This one: Ultimate quilt top, chambered, ebony fretboard, full binding, WCR Fillmores, push-push tone knob to split coils, crowns, blah, blah, blah... I just bought it's solid counterpart on eBay, so this one is now for sale. $1625 shipped to your door (provided you're in the contigous 48; I'll ship it elsewhere, but I'll have to figure out the shipping cost). Thanks for looking. -Austin
HamerHokie Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Full binding on a Studio is still a custom order, correct?
Feynman Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Full binding on a Studio is still a custom order, correct?I think 2007 is when that became standard fare.Ebony boards, however....
LordOfTheThighs Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Excuse me while I crank one off.Love It!
Feynman Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I think I've got something that fits your description,,, though I don't know if I want to part with it. The chambered thing is intriguing though. 1 piece Korina body with Korina neck, Ultimate Quilt in Aztec Gold with an Ebony board with 10 crown inlay. Pickups are a SD Custom in bridge and a 59 in the neck both are coil tapped. Neck is Hamer vintage (59ish) with a 1 11/16th width. Holy F%(*&^^ S6&^&*%$%^! I think that meets all of our descriptions.
specialk Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 Holy F%(*&^^ S6&^&*%$%^! I think that meets all of our descriptions. What he said!

Devnor Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 I have a wet spot for Korina. What a nice axe!

specialk Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 It does have a decent ding in it though, on the back of the neck,,, Dang, it even has a Korina back plate! I thought only Special K's came with that. If Austin doesn't want it, let me know. I HAVE CASH!!!! sk
atquinn Posted January 14, 2009 Author Posted January 14, 2009 Assuming LOTJ comes to his sense, anyone else got something in their stable?-Austin
3845guns Posted January 14, 2009 Posted January 14, 2009 Nice Guitar. I also have a 2005 Studio Custom I bought new from dealer in NY. Stunning flame top and fully bound neck/headstock, coil tap and mint condition. Mine is not chambered and that's my problem. About 8.5 pounds (I'll get it weighed on postal scale if you're interested) and I don't believe it is an ebony board. It appears to be a very dark rosewood board, but I will check the paperwork. It is a stunning guitar with a gorgeous top, but just a little too heavy for my 59 year old back.Let me know if this works, and if so I will send you photos and weight.Let me know the weight of your chambered Hamer.

I'll actually have to weight mine to see how heavy it is. It's definitely my lightest guitar (all the other ones are around 8.5 lbs), but I'm not sure what the exact weight is. -Austin

It is solid with a ebony board. Thoughts?

It looked like this when I had it That guitar kicked much ass, but I'm looking for something a bit more subdued, looks-wise. The quilt on my 05 Studio is actually pretty subtle (might be the color), but that was a bit too wild for me. -Austin

Caddie Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 all This makes me want to barf. Too much nice stuff and my body(wallet) can't deal with it!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give me GAS real bad. Someday...Here's an idea! Lets band together and form the HFC Bank and get some of that TARP money. At least with us we'll have some pretty damn nice guitars to show for it once it drys up. I may be old and I may be bent But I had the money till it all got spent I had the money till they made me pay Then I had the sense to be on my way I had to stay in the underground I was in the house when the house burned down ...............................................Warren Zevon
atquinn Posted January 17, 2009 Author Posted January 17, 2009 One the one hand, thank you for bumping my FT thread. On the other hand, now that Warren Zevon song is in my head and I can't find it online anywhere to listen to (with him performing it anyway). Damn you!-Austin

bubs_42 Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 So have you done a trade yet, hell you can't get better looking offers IMHO..
atquinn Posted January 19, 2009 Author Posted January 19, 2009 So have you done a trade yet, hell you can't get better looking offers IMHO.. Well, LOTJ's still deciding if he wants to trade his or not, and I already had the blue one, so I'm still open to offers There aren't many Studios out there that meet my requirements, so I'm not expecting this to be quick. In the meantime, I'll just play the '05 and enjoy what it has to offer. -Austin
