Armitage Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Obviously you guys don't know, and the FBI will be getting in touch with you shortly, but Standard Customs are considered WMD and must exported out of the USA to somewhere like Canada... Burlington Ontario to be exact...I can PM the address to you when you've got them all packed up.
gorch Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Obviously you guys don't know, and the FBI will be getting in touch with you shortly, but Standard Customs are considered WMD and must exported out of the USA to somewhere like Canada Germany... Burlington Ontario Darmstadt Germany to be exact... I can PM the address to you when you've got them all packed up. Fixed that for ya.
sixesandsevens Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 Bump for more standard pics and because I'm slowly coming back around to this body shape after almost 16 (edit: oh no...) 26 years away from it.
raythewrench Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 What is the feature at the bottom of the neck (fb is bound and comes to a " "pinch" ) on Greg s pic of the damn finest std pic . Also I came real close on pulling the trigger on 1 of the zandards (used) , and was pissed off I missed the standard and came really really close on the gold top std ( but didn't) . And the punisher just rules .
HSB0531 Posted July 7, 2013 Posted July 7, 2013 What is the feature at the bottom of the neck (fb is bound and comes to a " "pinch" ) on Greg s pic of the damn finest std pic .That multi-ply binding comes to a pinched point yes. It's a 4-digit Standard that was ordered with that feature. Not a standard, Standard feature.I don't think any other was ordered that way.
raythewrench Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Hsb0531. I completely understand your reply/ statement , lots of older high end gibbys had that as well , but that " feature " has to have a name like" Art Deco curve " or something like that .that is what I was trying to find out ,maybe I phrased it wrong sorry.
cmatthes Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 It is usually referred to as , "L-5" fingerboard end, if it's the one I'm thinking about. The HFC'er who owns that one also has a matching Vector.
HSB0531 Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 I knew one of the Matthes brothers would have an answer to this.And... A MATCHING VECTOR !!!!!!....WOW!
raythewrench Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 A super classy feature , option ,appiontment thanks fellas I knew it had some kind of designation,.cool
Hamerica Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 As in Gibson L-5 I presume ?Yes.I am assuming "it's in the book." Hamerica
cmatthes Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Here's a blurry pic of my son from a decade or so ago playing that one...
Jackass Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 5 Hams..... Those guitars are awesome, but I really love that carpet. I love the 70's. I can feel that carpet under my feet right now. If the walls have brown paneling, then I'm gonna lose it. Bm
BTMN Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Nope. No Brown paneling. Light Tan with Oak crowning on three walls of livingroom.
Jackass Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Wow, do I see LP's over on the right? Good for you.Bm
BTMN Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Nope. L-R: Hamer Special, '79 Standard, '96 T51, '83 Blitz Bass way in the back, 'Czech Dean Z, '77 Standard Custom, '04 Dean Z Pro, '01 Standard Custom, '96 Dean Z, '05 Mini Standard, '96 Dean V. Oh wait, you mean LPs as in records not Les Pauls. Yes, I have a few of them indeed.
Jackass Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Ha! Good one. I tried to get you, but you got me.Bm
trashedman Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Too much - way too much! all of these guitars...
gorch Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Can't see the paneling but this is in the livingroom. Now I understand why they are hard to get. They are all with you.
HSB0531 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 Can't see the paneling but this is in the livingroom. Looks like a Standard Army marching in a parade.
