Armitage Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Jeez, I want a Prototype one of these days... A 1982 Cruise in Natural Ow ow ow... back in the day I wanted one of those SOOOooo bad.
mathman Posted September 24, 2013 Author Posted September 24, 2013 I had to fix my original picture link. Mobileme has gone byebye so most of my old links are broken. Boy, I sure was happy when I got this guitar. It is still an amazing guitar.
sonny o'hoolighan Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Anybody remember the modded one that was on GC about six months back? I think it had a mini humbucker in the neck, and it might have been a sunburst finish. I know that one changed hands a few times on here before making it over to GC. It intrigued me but I never pulled the trigger.
mathman Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 The Elduave/Rocketeria classic white: That one is awesome. What is it a "modern" custom shop or a restoration and modification to an old one? This is just F'ing KILLER ! THIS!!!! Thud.
sonny o'hoolighan Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 FYI, a quick image search brought that one up- I'm pretty sure that is the one from GC I was interested in (previous page)..
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 The Elduave/Rocketeria classic white: That one is awesome. What is it a "modern" custom shop or a restoration and modification to an old one? This is just F'ing KILLER ! It’s un-FREAKIN'-believable how amazing that guitar looks! Just when I didn't think there was any way a Phantom Custom could get even a slight bit cooler and then ^ ^ THIS ^ ^ white, sustain blocked, siren shows up ~ Damn, just damn. It’s cool enough I'm guessing in came with four or five layers of built-in "Dibs" before you ever unboxed it. Hell even the UPS guy was probably ogling it . . . . . .
bubs_42 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That Custom is indeed one of my all time favorites. I just really love the Prototype/Phantoms. I would like to get a later 80's Phantom to try out they look very cool. Phantom Redux #1:

GusS Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 yep, '82 proto pickups, knobs, black sustainblock
bubs_42 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Very nice The Pre-Slammer Pickups are the ones that I enjoy in a Prototype. Very Slide Friendly, just a nice warm vintage pickup combo. I've been putting Duncans in both of my Phantoms using the stock single from the 90's with a Phatcat. On V2 the only thing that is the same with the pickups is the singlecoil. I like its balance and tone because it works so well with other bridge pickups from SD. You should see my neck pickup on V2
bubs_42 Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 2014 i'm going to suck it up and buy a Phantom Custom. Well that is, if the wife will let me.
sonny o'hoolighan Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s210/gcoccolu/pccroc.jpgJust thought i'd give this one more shot. Does anyone know where this one ended up? I know it had been owned by at least a few people here...

sonny o'hoolighan Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Thanks. I know it changed hands a few times, so maybe it will make its way back around eventually.
PeterM Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Hi there, I just found this site and this is my first post. Glad to see a site that appreciates the craftmanship of Hamer. I'm no great musician, just entertain myself with my playing, but wanted to stop by and say hi to fellow Hamer fans. Here's a picture I took of my Hamer. It was a high school graduation present (back in '85), which I've enjoyed for many years. It's the ony electric I've ever owned.
