MarkF786 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Either it's just a random occurrence or the seller is bidding up himself. This is far above an average price.
zorrow Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 It looks mint, and in addition it was built when Jol was there.
specialk Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Great looking T-51, but the price is nuts! Maybe there are speculators out there (hell, there are speculators for everything these days) who hope the price will skyrocket for Hamer USA guitars that were built "when Jol was there", as zorrow said above. Crazy.....
crunchee Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 It looks like a classic contest between two bidders, one having zero feedback. Maybe it DOES pay to have something up on eBay during the Super Bowl!
esquared Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 The zero feedback bidder on this looks like the same as on the $1250 Daytona????But the sellers are from different parts of the country??? Strange, I don't think I have seen either model go for over 1K and now both in the same day???
Always Broke Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 That zero feedback bidder seems very eager to drive those prices up...
specialk Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 2 minutes left.PSA: Alcohol and ebay do not mix!
esquared Posted February 8, 2010 Author Posted February 8, 2010 Thats it, I am listing all my guitars next year during the superbowl hehehehe
Feynman Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 That guitar is being sold by a friend of mine. It sure does appear to be the same zero bidder as the Daytona auction. In fact, it looks like he has bid on ten things in the past two days.I sure hope this works out well - that is one very nice T-51. I know my friend has gotten some very serious interest and several 'real' bids on that guitar, so I am crossing my fingers that this zero feedback guy is on the level.Wish him luck - I'd hate to find out this bidder is out to scam.
Lockbody Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Mr 148 feedback was still willing to pay $1094 for it.
sw686blue Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 That zero feedback bidder seems very eager to drive those prices up... Can the zero feedback bidder be Jol?
burningyen Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 lol, where was this bidder when I sold my 25th Ann. for $700?
Feynman Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 Well, the story ends well. The zero feedback bidder was legit and went on a shopping spree with a big wad of money. The T-51 is safely delivered and paid for, with positive feedback all around. It appears the guy bid on about ten items in one day and won most of them. He seems to be a nice guy who was just new to eBay. The bidder commented that he knows he paid a premium for it, but asked "where else could I find a USA made guitar of this quality for that kind of money?" Seems reasonable to me. I see now that he has four positive feedbacks, so I think he's good to go for future stuff. He reported getting a lot grief for being a new bidder (as I would expect). I'm happy for my friend that he didn't get ripped off, and that has to be close to a record for a T-51 doesn't it?
FrankieIII Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 It's very lightweight ash (at a bit over 7 lbs.) and that's very appealing to Tele players, combined with the 22-frets and USA manufacture. Seems worth it to me.
esquared Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 I am not done buying yet, please keep the prices low for a little longer... hehehehehehehe!
