BCR Greg Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 This one has had me frazzled, but the end result will be worth it. Imagine a rare single pickup Firebird I that had a wraparound bridge and little else. Nice, huh? Well, until it became THIS.... Good LORD! It seems that the previous owner wanted to accent the 22nd fret, for some reason.... And it was a string through?!?!?! I have my work cut out for me.....(poor choice of words, eh?)

BCR Greg Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Luck? Update: Center ridge milled off, fresh 1950's Gibson mahogany for replacement ready to be installed. This way all of the holes drilled and the filled route will not be seen under the new finish. The new center ridge clamped on and drying, after being sized and glued... Progress is slow but sure......
gorch Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 You took your time to come to this solution Greg. This one looks serious for sure.No hail to the preacher here. Simply, it's serious craftsmanship and good ideas. I am looking forward to your next update Greg and suppose you will refinish the lacquer too so it will shine like new at the final end.
G Man Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 Wow, I can't believe what people will do to a perfectly good guitar. At least they keep you in work Greg. Looking forward to following the progress on this one.

teleman Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Greg is a miracle worker on these things. I've seen some of his other work posted here. If I had a headstock repair to be done or any other serious work he is the guy that I'd call in a heartbeat.
