specialk Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Not that I'm interested in owning one anyway, but that's a bit rich for me....
DarrenD Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If it had the sustain block, everything would be perfect (imo anyway). Very cool guitars -- I always wanted one. When I say that, I mean I WILL eventually buy one down the road when my funds increase. One would have to think of it as a collector's item to make the price justified though. You could perhaps buy a brand new custom style virt from a small luthier for under $3500.
Nathan of Brainfertilizer Fame Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I'd buy it, but you know how it is: gold hardware! On a related issue, I won't go out with Megan Fox, because her earlobes are just not detached enough.
chap Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Brain - that's hilarious! We should start a pool. I'll buy the $2000-2400 square. Anyone else want to play?
gorch Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I don't spend money on a light blue neck joint surrounding plus light blue underneath the trem.
atquinn Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I don't spend money on a light blue neck joint surrounding plus light blue underneath the trem.Exactly.-Austin
Submariner85 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I won't go out with Megan Fox, because her earlobes are just not detached enough. Not to mention her Toethumb.
cmatthes Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 What is that light blue? The O'Connor Marble guitars were painted with either a pale blue, medium blue or surf green base coat (these are the three most common varieties - I've owned two different ones). The artist then applied faux marble features with sponges, various brushes in various layered shades from charcoal to white. After that, the gold leaf veining was added, then it got a signature and the clearcoats.Pretty impressive stuff in person.
kurtsstuff Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 If I got it I'd have to route it out for a humbucker closer to the bridge Yes...An EMG humbucker...I might just do it..
RacerX Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 The light blue in the trem cavity is not that bright in person...As Chris said, this is a great finish in person. The Cali in my sig is the same finish.....pure ROCK!!!
