DavidE Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 I was waiting for you to post this one.The first person to offer me $800 gets this one. U.S. shipping $50.00 add 3% for PayPal.Ridiculous price on a sick, sick guitar.I was hoping it had a trem bridge, but alas it has a hardtail. Dammit.
BadgerDave Posted August 5, 2010 Author Posted August 5, 2010 Reply to dsigman re: the sunburst Tele. When I attempt to reply by PM, I get an error message so I don't know if you're getting them.Your answers:Neck is in virtually brand new condition, no marks, wear or any other flaws at all. The body was slightly used, so there are very light signs of wear in the form of surface swirls on the finish and pickguard. No dents, dings or significant scratches. Structurally and functionally, it's perfect. Absolutely no issues. Thanks for your interest.
earachemyeye Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 That maple strat is a steal and yes Dave can put these things together. I've played a few of these and they are without question very high quality throughout. If only I had the cash.Joe
jginsj Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 I want the entire bottom row. I just can't afford it. I want that row too and can afford it, but that would be glutinous, hedonistic and over the top.... Guess I'll just have to limit myself to the teal and sparkle ones on the left! Make me a 2-pack deal??
BadgerDave Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 What's the story on the top-right Strat? The best one. Warmoth chambered body with a ton of flame, quilt and birdseye figuring. Gold Callaham bridge/trem, Gotoh adjustable height locking tuners, Warmoth vintage amber tint wildly figured maple neck with abalone dots, boatneck (deep V) profile stainless steel jumbo frets. Lollar blackface pickups. Callaham "reliced" pickguard and plastic. The Callaham relicing doesn't involve wear, dings or dirt. It's an amber tint that fades across the pickguard - lighter in the playing areas and darker on the edges. I tried just about every other color of pickguard on this guitar - this one works perfectly with the two tone brown sunburst. A little minor playing wear on the body and hardware only. $1,200.00 plus $50.00 shipping and 3% for PayPal.
BadgerDave Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 I'd consider a 1:1 trade for a PRS Mira or a 2:1 trade for a very nice McCarty, 22Custom, Singlecut or similar USA PRS.Also, if you're looking at any of these, Jaye, I'd trade for your LPLE. You'd look good with the flame sparkle Tele!

Pieman Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 The black TeleNot sure what is meant by compound radius. Can you explain? Can you talk about the mini-HB/rosewood neck tones? Does this get farther way from traditional tele twanginess or what? Thanks t
peedenmark7 Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 The Tele with the minihumbucker in the neck is making my nether-parts tingle What is that? Those don't look like dot markers. Diamonds. And matching pearloid body and neck binding. aaah, mother of toilet seat binding, a fine combo with the inlays ! dave always has cool stuff !

Jaye sees Jaye rocking that Tele too but alas, I can't pull it off right now.
sirDaniel Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Coolest Tele ever. Lack of funds and needing another guitar like a hole in the head prevents me from taking it off your hands. Hate to see the teal ESP didn't make the cut. i owned this for a while... un f****n believable axe. One of my all time favs. I'm not a tele player.
BadgerDave Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 The black TeleNot sure what is meant by compound radius. Can you explain? Can you talk about the mini-HB/rosewood neck tones? Does this get farther way from traditional tele twanginess or what? Thanks t10" radius in the cowboy chord area, gradually flattening to 16" above the 12th fret for easier lead playing and bending without "fretting out". It is, IMO, a significant design improvement over constant radius fretboards. The fretboard is actually ebony, not rosewood, so you get some extra "snap" in the tone. Most tele players feel that the stock tele neck pickup is anemic, at best. The twang comes from the bridge and the Barden delivers - without hum. The tone of the Lollar mini sits in a very nice spot between a full humbucker and a P-90. Slightly more focused and bright than a PAF voiced humbucker. Again, IMO, the perfect choice for the neck position where a standard humbucker can be too "woofy".
