MrGuitarguy Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Probably an OC topic, but since not everyone can access it:How much does gas cost where you are? It's about $3.09 here in Cowtown. (Columbus, Ohio)
Regina Lee Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Average in Indy is $2.69, but near our house it's $3.19 to $3.39.
musicman Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 I am traveling for business and paid $3.24 a gal today.Over $70 to fill my tank.I am glad that Bush can't run for the office of President anymore - I couldn't afford it.
sw686blue Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 In lovely Montreal it's only $4.32 a gallon.
alantigold Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 $2.49 last night for regular.$2.54 this morning on the way to work.$2.59 on the way home.Bastards. Gouging, thieving, lying bastards. My buddy's neighbor has a great bumper sticker: Record high gas prices. How do you like Bush now?And to think they said how bad off the country was when the president was just getting a hummer in the Oval Office.Alan
Dry Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 $3.08Save the trees, Wipe your ass with an owl.Oh wait a minute, $3.09..
sw686blue Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Yesterday evening $1.07 per litreThis morning $1.15 per litreThis evening $1.35 per litre$0.28 in 24 hours
DavidE Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 It was $2.55 or so on average here in Columbus yesterday. Hell of a jump, but at least there seems to be a real reason that can't be blamed on a politician. But you gotta wonder if there's a reason for the HUGE overnight jump.Anyway, I was thinking about what to do when driving for work. The IRS allows reimbursement that will not cover the actual cost of gas + wear and tear on the vehicle. Seems like the IRS should institute a new deduction amount immediately or everyone who drives for work is losing money every mile they go. I'm going to look into whether I can rent a car and charge actual gas costs.
princeofdarkness56 Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 In Buffalo 2 days a go it was $2.61. Today it's $2.76. You can't tell me that the gas in the storage tanks have been affected by Katrina yet. What you are seeing is just good old fashion greed. And yes, unfortunetly it is political. Iraqi's are paying 5 cents a gallon because our government is subsidizing them. Someday we will have leadership that is interested in helping it's own citizens first. Just not today. Sorry for the rant, but this is just plain nonsense what is happening.
tomteriffic Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 This bites. Typically it's $3.09 here at the moment. When I drive for work, it's about 150-200 miles. And I have to make one of those tomorrow and a 900 mile round trip over the weekend.....
BadJaxx Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 CNN reported that today they saw as high as over $6 a gallon in Atlanta....the Governor of Georgia asked people to not hoard gas as that would make things worse and announced they will go after gougers.....i sure hope they send the gougers to jail.....in New Orleans....
Hackubus Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 $2.79 as of quittin time in Stilwell OK. Talked to my bro in law who lives in Tahlequah OK, by sundown it was $3.00 there.

discountsounds Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Chicago suburbs: $3.09 - $3.19 for a gallon of regular. Even more in the city. God I wish I could ride my bike to work!
cmatthes Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 Gas was $3.099 (why don't they just say $3.10?!?!) at my closest station last night. I drove a few miles (4) into Rockville and tanked up my wife's guzzlin' Explorer at $2.799. Went right back out and filled up my own tank at the same place at @ 11:30. As I was pulling out, they were rekeying the sign/tanks to $2.869. The station near my house had already risen to $3.159 for Regular.Today, both stations were up between $.17 and $.22 by the time I got home. I'm sure they'll be higher tomorrow. I'm glad we don't have anywhere to drive this weekend!

SouthernShred Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 $2.61 this morning$3.25 this evening in Columbus, GA...fun...the gougers need to be sent away...
shankyboy Posted September 1, 2005 Posted September 1, 2005 A whopping $2.99 for the cheap stuff here in Phoenix. I filled up yesterday for $2.63 and thought that was outrageous. To top it off, I have plans to drive to LA this weekend with my father for the Nextel cup races. Boy is that gonna hurt.I would prefer it if the great folks on this site would keep their political views to themselves. This site is about guitars, music and the people making the music. Not politics. I am sure that there are plenty of groups/sites one can join if they feel they need express their frustrations about our current Commander in Chief. Let's please not let it happen here.
