LucSulla Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Mother of god! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hamer-Studio-Transparent-Blue-UltimateGrade-Quilt-Maple-Top-Chambered-Body-/161009065010
LucSulla Posted April 16, 2013 Author Posted April 16, 2013 With that top, a solid body would have been too much awesome for one guitar. They had to reduce the weight to keep it from collapsing into a bad-ass singularity and possibly destroying the earth. At least, that is my hypothesis.
tomteriffic Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 It'd make a stunning bookend to the Aircraft Carrier but it's a bit on the spendy side for me.Good Lord, what a beaut!
crunchee Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 Very nice! Maybe it's the light as it looks like a studio (as in photo studio) shot, but the back looks like a dark purple, instead of nearly black, which is what most blue Hamers seem to be. That alone ought to get a few people here on the board interested!

bubs_42 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 So Ultimate Quilt, Chambered, Indigo Blue and MOP Headstock Inlay?? Sounds like someone asked for all the good stuff and left out all the filler. Oh and Vintage Carve Neck.
rj2858 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 As a fan of Indigo, but not quilted maple tops, I've gotta say that it's purty, but she just looks naked without binding, ( and a B&C'd fretboard, and amber knobs, and a double cream p'up in the bridge position). "Filler" indeed! But I digress. She sold for $1400.

rj2858 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 ^^^ Well, then you're gonna have to teach me how to read an Ebay listing, 'cause I think it did.2 offers, both declined, and it says Price $1400.

The auction is listed as "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." Which is to say, the seller used eBay for some free advertising, then sold it off eBay for less money, but still netted more than they would have if they had sold it for $1400 on eBay due to not having to pay any of eBay's increasingly exorbitant fees. Happens all the time.-Austin

ptm1diver Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 I was one of the bidders. I did not receive notice that my bid was rejected. When I checked this morning, I saw the auction had ended. It's a shame we cannot provide feedback on the "Seller"
bubs_42 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Bidder or you made an offer? 2 offers were made and rejected that is what the auction shows. As for the seller he seems like a stand up guy, its just too bad we are such cheapskates.
ptm1diver Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Ok Splitting hairs. Call it an offer. Point is, I received no rejection notice, regardless of what the auction shows. I guess you know the seller.
bubs_42 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Never met him nor have I ever traded emails with him before the auction. He is a member here, answered all my question promptly. Sorry you didn't get the guitar best of luck next time. Oh BTW i'll let you know when it arrives

Happens all the time. - Austin Austin - I didn't look at the "This listing was ended..." at the top of the auction, but I've seen enough auctions that I should have known it would likely have read "Sold for - $1400", if that was the seliing price. That one's on me. Having not seen the auction before it ended I assumed it was a "Buy-It-Now", and that was how those listings were denoted. Your $5?, not in the mail, however.

ptm1diver Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 Enjoy the guitar, I have no sour grapes. I have 4 Hamers already and one more or less is no big deal.
