cynic Posted February 15, 2023 Posted February 15, 2023 Oh boy... "Mint condition, stated as very good, because when it came to my hands from its first owner, it had been already repaired in the neck from a break below the headstock. Was professionally repaired and re lacquered by a top luthier, and is mint ever since..." 4 1 1 Quote
LucSulla Posted February 18, 2023 Author Posted February 18, 2023 I thought this was pretty great. Includes him running through Sails of Charon. Quote

django49 Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 My favorite Phil Ochs. Most have never heard it (Outside of a Small Circle of Friends) . But it seemed to fit the times perfectly, all those years ago..... 1 Quote

django49 Posted March 6, 2023 Posted March 6, 2023 As a guitarist, I play many gigs. Recently, I was asked by a funeral director to play at a graveside service for a poor, humble man. The service was to be at a pauper’s cemetery in the back country. As I was not familiar with that area, I got lost. I finally arrived an hour late and saw the funeral guy had evidently gone, and the hearse was nowhere in sight. There were only the diggers and crew left, and they were eating lunch. I felt badly and apologized to the men for being late. I went to the side of the grave and looked down, and the vault lid was already in place. I didn’t know what else to do, so I started to play. The workers put down their lunches and began to gather around. I played out my heart and soul for this man with no family and friends. I played like I’ve never played before for this homeless man. And as I played ‘Amazing Grace,’ the workers began to weep. They wept, I wept, and we all wept together. When I finished, I packed up my guitar and started for my car. Though my head hung low, my heart was full. As I opened the door to my car, I heard one of the workers say, "I've never seen anything like that before, and I’ve been putting in septic tanks for twenty years." Apparently, I was still lost. 4 Quote
LucSulla Posted March 6, 2023 Author Posted March 6, 2023 There are a lot of flashier slide players that have laid it down over the years, but few move me like the performance on this track. Yes, this is another ever-so-often post to reiterate that the Faces were fucking awesome. 2 Quote
