Caddie Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 On July 4, 2016 at 8:35 AM, cynic said: Ebay listing has been postponed until July 7th to give you cheap bastards one last chance at the new lowered cheap-ass price of $7750. A steal at twice the price!! Perhaps the HFC's experience and delicately voiced observations convinced him to rethink his pricing strategy. However nobody criticized his photography. From that angle the seller is a genius. Perhaps the generous 3% (check my math) price drop is part of the seller's "4th of July Blowout Sale!!!"! Shrewd pricing strategy, drop the price 3% every 17 days or National Holiday. Shrewd indeed. Clearly this is not the seller's first rodeo. This story is not over. Not over by a long shot. This will be included in MBA curriculum from the most revered programs worldwide. The next big National Holiday is Labor Day. Look out kids the next price drop could be enormous, as enormous as $tree fiddy wun. Start adding up those Bar Mitzvah Bonds from Aunt Esther! 5th of July Cheers! caddie

Dana_V Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 “I have not played this guitar for any real length of time in over a decade. Has always been kept in case out of sun and in climate controlled environments. It was never gigged, only played occasionally in rehearsal or an odd studio session.” “I changed the hamer bridge body to a schaller of same spec as the original knife edges started to wear prematurely…” He hardly ever played it and the knife edges were already starting to wear? What was the original bridge made of, Play-Doh®? Or did he only ever take the guitar out of its case to violently shake it by the tremolo arm?
Bennyboy-UK Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 It really is all a load of old bollocks really, isn't it.

Unless he bought it used and the bridge knife edges were dulled already. I dunno...
mrjamiam Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 He's been editing the post. The part about the aborted 2008 eBay auction is gone now, as is the part where he says that he bought it in 1991 or so when he was a music store employee, along with a Centaura that he's keeping. So if he hasn't played it much in the last decade, he had 15 or so years before that to wear the bridge out. IF that was all accurate in the first place. Price now back up to $8k OBO. I'm guessing OBO will carry the day....
