Yes, there were a few with Tonepros either straight or intonatable wraptails:

special1.jpg                     Geez some awesome looking wraptails here , and I REALLY  like the wraptail  Hamer Firebird.................not even sure what they call  that model but that one, what a beautiful guitar in its simplicity.................can't be many of those around....................the single PUP version is what I'm referring to....sometimes less is more. Love the "Studio" Dave had...................love that "Sunburst" he had even more..................that WAS killer.

Re-re-listed without the "comment on matters they know nothing about" verbiage.
Perhaps he realized he had ended a sentence with a preposition and wanted to rectify that grammatical error by deleting the thread and starting a new one.

Yes, that's it.

The, “didn’t this just sell at Dave’s for $995”-response got taken down. Hilarious!

TGP is an odd phenomenon.

Which in and of itself isn't objectionable. The fact that he didn't even have the guitar in hand before he listed it on Reverb and said "this is a clean example that also plays/sounds terrific so I can't imagine the new owner being disappointed," and therefore couldn't have known how it played/sounded or if it would make it to him in one piece, is objectionable.

At $1500 he'll be sitting on that guitar for a while, so for the time being, this flipping initiative has him a grand in the hole.

Good point.  But still no Studios.

Still no Studios, but how 'bout an Artist and a Newport?

Yeah, still CT, not IL made, but I haven't posted this pic in a while...

$100 shipping on a guitar = Dick Move.

Not supporting, but the last few guitars I shipped were North of $80...

To what planet?
Shipping Ground inside the 48 states with a regular guitar box shouldn't cost that much.
Certainly if you're adding a boat load of insurance (which is a ripoff) or going 2nd day or shipping to Canada or some other God forsaken place, it's going to be up there in price, but starting at $100 right out of the gate is just a money grab on the seller's part.

We'll, I just did an online quote for UPS to ship a 50x20x9 box (I double box, so the outer box is a bit big) to Los Angeles, and the quote came back for $103 UPS ground.  That does not include insurance, required signature, it anything else.

I would expect if I used my account,I would get a discount to back in the $80 range.

USPS came back with $106...

ETA - again, not supporting this guy, just saying that shipping guitars has gotten fookin' expensive....

Shipping with the 3 majors has gone up well above inflation rates in the past 2 years.

USPS pretty much quadrupled everything with any side larger than 12". Not sure about the other 2.

A lot of it seems to come from the idea that they need to charge individual shippers 3-4 times as much as a customer who ships larger quantities.

That's the biased perspective from "some other God forsaken place".

I don't know, guys.  I ship FedEx, pack extremely well, and have never paid more than $70, coast to coast.

USPS? Ya kidding me?

FedEx ground quoted at $132 to Los Angeles.

Granted, anything not going over the Rockies is always cheaper (I looked over my shipping costs, and one guitar did ship for $50 - the other two were to the coast, and they were over $80 - all three via UPS...)

Kiz - When was the last time you shipped?  Overall, the difference from $70 to 80 ain't much of a disagreement between us...

Can we get back to reusing someone else's photos to flip a guitar?  :)

Fed Ex charged $90 for a daytona in a case going from Philly to CA earlier this year.  And add the cost for a box  and packing materials.  $100 doesn't seem out of control.   Of course, if he sent it from NYC to DC and charged the full $100, that would be a dick move.

I've sold a half dozen or so $1000-$1500 guitars on Reverb in the last couple months.  I don't double box, but do ship insured.  Buying a UPS label along with Reverb's shipping protection has averaged under $50 and all but one  have been less than $60.  I've also sold 10-15 <$500 guitars on eBay over the same time period.  Their discount isn't nearly as good but with the lower priced guitars (lower insurance costs) the average has been under $40.

I agree that shipping has gotten way more expensive in recent years, but what if someone in Philly wanted that guitar? He's gonna get jacked up for a c-note? Fuuuuuuuuuuck that. Once again, this dickhead will be sitting on this guitar for a while, despite his half-ass price cut.

Just another example of this wannabe profiteer's shitheel status, following in sequence with listing the guitar for sale before it was in his possession, commenting on the guitar's condition and playability before it was in his possession, claiming that he used Dave's photos with permission (which I'm convinced is a lie), taking down FS posts on TGP when he was challenged about stuff, etc.

If something came up that prompted a quick sale and he asked Dave’s to use their pics why not just ask to return the guitar or cancel the sale?     I think we know the answer.    he thought it was a quick flip before anyone who follows hamer would realize it just sold for $999

Last week. $45 from the Garden State to the Show Me State.

Looks like this one sold. Maybe 1300 on Reverb. Hard to tell. But I know he had reduced it once or twice. Not the big flipper price, but he still made a couple of scheckles.

Beautiful guitar and probably worth every cent in today's market. I hope whomever made the deal RAWKS THE HELL OUT OF IT!

at $1300 it was barely worth the flip after shipping, packaging, and other fees.
