David B Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 SOLD TO BROOKSHi, I wanted to see if anyone on the board wants this before it goes to ebay or turns into some kind of project. It's a 1994, all mahagony, HUMBUCKER Special. These are pretty rare from the factory like this without the maple top. The neck had a crack at the nut to the middle of the 2nd fret. It played perfectly like that, but I forced some glue in there & clamped it. It is solid now. I've done recording with it as well. The neck is medium. It has some chips & dings, but not too many. There is no case. I'll sell this for $350.00 SHIPPED to USA 48 states! http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...ecialSerial.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...lNeckjoint2.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...alNeckjoint.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...ialFullBody.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...SpecialFace.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...SpecialBack.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...lNeckrepair.jpghttp://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e343/dlb...Neckrepair2.jpg

Jack C Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I've got a coworker who is looking at Mexi-Strats and other imports and I'm trying to get him to find a used Hamer. Couple questions:- What pickups are in there? I would have expected one zebra Duncan on a '94.- Is it some sort of sunburst?- Can you tell me more about the neck repair? This would be a Charlotte buyer. You're somewhere in NC, right?

This would be a Charlotte buyer. You're somewhere in NC, right? The pickups are either two Duncans or 1 Duncan & one Dimarzio (I'll have to check)I think one of the pickups is non original. It is a Sunburst finish. The neck repair looks better in person than in the pics. That is an extreme close up. I think someone banged the headstock face & cracked it. I really had to force it open to get glue in the crack & then I clamped it. It is solid.I'm an hour from Charlotte. I can meet somewhere for delivery if wanted.
Michael_ Posted March 2, 2006 Posted March 2, 2006 An hour from Charlotte in which direction? I'm in Rock Hill, and I might be interested.
David B Posted March 2, 2006 Author Posted March 2, 2006 An hour from Charlotte in which direction? I'm in Rock Hill, and I might be interested. I'm in Kernersville (beside Winston-Salem). I don't mind driving to Charlotte for a HFC member.

David B Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 WHY is this guitar unsold? Hmmm. I may hafta buy it for no good reason at all.Hey, if yer in Kernersville, you know Mitch Easter? I live less than 1 mile from Mitch Easter & that's where I do my recording. Check out www.spankonline.com if you wanna hear some of his work.
Brooks Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 david lives 2 towns over from me. his cd that mitch did sounds great.he's got some kickass hamers, too.
serial Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 I dig the Spank stuff. Someone'll snap this one up in no time-killer price on a fine guitar.I used to do the Winston-Salem to Rock Hill run (well, actually, Winston to Kershaw-a little further down 521) a bunch in the 80s. Not a bad ride at all. Sheesh-to have it driven to Charlotte? At $350?!No brainer IMHO!
Michael_ Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 Sheesh-to have it driven to Charlotte? At $350?!No brainer IMHO! Tell me about it! Especially since I've really been looking for a two-hum guitar to add a little 'fatness' to my arsenal. I just don't have the money right now and I'm kicking myself for making some dumb/useless purchases lately. Urrrrgh...
David B Posted March 3, 2006 Author Posted March 3, 2006 Sheesh-to have it driven to Charlotte? At $350?!No brainer IMHO! Well, I kinda hate shipping guitars. That's why I'm willing to drive it to Charlotte. If no takers in a few more days, I probably just keep it. Thanks for the compliments on Spank.
Brooks Posted March 3, 2006 Posted March 3, 2006 david, email me next week if the charlotte sale doesn't go thru.
