Building first pedal board - pedal order?

As the title says, I’m putting together my first board.  Do you have any recommendations on the order of these pedals?  or which one goes first and last and tinker with the middle? Thanks

Typical are ODs up front then time based and modulation. How to order the three ODs maybe someone else can suggest. But you can suit your ears. Likely OCD, KLON and Fuzz. I would put delay next then DejaVibe. You can hear the delay trails have motion.

Definitely experiment with the DejaVibe's placement. The first time I built a board with a treadled DV2, I didn't ask the Internet where it should go first. I subsequently thought the DV sounded best near the front of my chain instead of near the back. It was weird based on pedal logic, but my ears, my rig, my tastes, so I left it.

Turns out I wasn't the only one who thought or heard as I did.

Remember that a Uni-Vibe is actually an arrangement of phasers, so put it where you would put a phaser.

Some quality fuzzes like to be put first in the chain, but you should experiment.  You don't need to worry about a wah, but if you put an unbuffered wah in front of a needy fuzz, you will not get the full range out of the fuzz.  The most sensible thing to do is to start with the fuzz, and then build up the chain one pedal at a time to see what you like best.  Placement of the KLON will depend whether or not you are favouring it more as a drive or as a boost.  With a boost, you can put it last before delay.

In all likelihood, your best order will be Fuzz-->OCD-->Dejavibe-->KLON-->delay, but use your ears to make your final decisions.  The advantage of this particular setup is that you would have drive options both before and after your Vibe pedal.

Many say Fuzz first as germanium fuzzzes don't like any other slot. I always have an OD before any of my fuzzes and never had a problem. I'd personally go:

Or swap the OCD with the Klon clone...

Didn't I read somewhere that a buffer before can be used to reanimate a balky fuzz. Does the OCD have a buffer output? Am I wong?

The Klon does. SomSay that's the best part of the pedal.

    When I worked at Sam Ash music, I was able to play around with many new rack mount and pedal EFX.  The rack gear was sent through a patch bay so that  we could quickly demo them through various sources.  It allowed for many interesting sounds.   So my point is to put them all on a table (quicker to change patching) and try different patches while you play.

Do you have an option for an effects loop?  That may open up other possibilities.

Agreed... but I use these as it makes it a lot easier... great for backup!
