bry4321 Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Someone listed a guitar with "I will reduce the price by $10 a day until it is sold"
MCChris Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 The ol' Dutch Auction. Nothing wrong with it. Wouldn't be necessary if there weren't so many BAMFs out there. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_auction
Steve Haynie Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Instead of worrying a guitar will go for more than you can afford, you worry about someone buying it before it gets down to your price. The auction anxiety never ends.
santellavision Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 Just list it at Tree-Fiddy and be done with it!
scottcald Posted June 27, 2023 Posted June 27, 2023 I'll buy it in 2 years. At that point, they'll owe me money!
tommy p Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I do that on my sale posts but I didn't know it had a name. When someone contacts me with a lowball offer, I tell them that the price will be reduced each week an item doesn't sell until it does. Several times they've gone ahead and bought it instead of waiting. I guess either they think someone else will beat them to it as the price is reduced or they know it's worth what I was asking.
Aceldama Posted June 29, 2023 Posted June 29, 2023 I do this all the time. I don’t announce it though. I saw an interesting one that said they would RAISE the price each week. Ok champ. Hope that works out.
singlehum Posted June 30, 2023 Posted June 30, 2023 Those Dutch are quite the innovators, with their auctions and ovens and such...
