Too bad about the non original TP-6 Tail-stop... easily fixed but still~

Yes. A totally unnecessary "upgrade".

I purchased and had it shipped to the local store.

I assumed it would be a Hamer Case but was coffin case.

Tailpieces extremely corroded.

Every screw head was damaged from incorrect screwdriver.

The gold pickup covers not present. Don't think they are in pictures. The pickup pole screws were damaged and I'm not sure they are SD pickups.

The coffin case really pissed me off.

The body of the guitar was in great shape. A few light dings on top near volume. I'm thinking rings or something. Nothing on back of neck,  no buckle rash, I didn't see a lot of body issues but I didn't check 100%.

Again coffin case really upset me.

For $6000 plus tax and shipping I couldn't accept in good conscience. I expected a top dollar guitar for top dollar price.

There is one on sale on Reverb and it is missing at least one gold pick guard screw.

I didn't look at the rest of the pictures closely.

I expect hate messages and that's fine.

Anyway there's my report. I was so upset I didn't tune and play it.

As Korina number standards are going out of sight for prices. I'm leaning toward numbered Rick Nielsen korina futura.

If any one has a mint Korina Numbered Standard for sale please let me know.

I hope this info helps someone.

I want a Korina Standard or Futura to go with my Korina 5 string bass with a maple neck.

Thanks,

Ham Rex

To bad the deal did not work out. I would have kept it none the less if they had agreed to a partly re-fund (700-1000$) as compensation for the case. These guitars are not easy to find these days. And cases pop up here now and then. Screws cost a few pennys, and you could probably get the store to replace them.

And that tail piece was a non original blasphemy to begin with, needed to be swapped out for an original Gotoh bridge (they are easy to find and not expensive). Duncan JBs and 59s are out there at great prices. The JB does not sound that great in these Korina Standards, so I would put Antiquities or a double 59 combo in there. I have Ants in my Korina Standard, and a Duncan Hybrid with an A4 mag in my Korina Vector - both sound killer.
Duncan gold covers cost some, but not that much. You could have asked the store for free replacements.

Just my two cents. You did what you felt you needed to do. Good luck in your hunt for another one. 🙂

I've noticed that once a guitar has been there for 60 days and has a return or two... that GC

will start looking at the price, particularly on higher dollar items...  but if it's GC,  you could just

eat the $23 and let it be someone else's problem.

Yes, I refused it at the store.

Lost the $23 shipping but it was worth the gamble.

Thanks,

Martin

They didn't want to work with me on the price as it was not the store that purchased the guitar from seller/trader.

It's still available at GC! Please feel free and order it.

$6000 is the price an excellent condition price in my opinion with original case.

$500-$700 case to replace it if you can find a genuine Hamer Standard case.

Unknown pickups as they may have had the covers removed or pickups replaced, so a SD JB Gold Cover and a SD 59 Gold cover

Both the bridge and tail piece need to be replaced.

All the Pickgard screws need replacing which would take at least 3-5 orders to receive the correct ones.

Plus the forever feeling you've been screwed over for settling for a guitar you over paid for. That's a terrible feeling.

The manager was a "Take it or Leave it" guy who has no nose for business. "Price is what the price is". Would not call the Ocala store to see if there was wiggle room on price before purchase and when I received it.

Maybe if the price falls $1000-$1500 I'll pick it up.

I have two extra Standard case as I bought an original style, red interior cases for my NOS 1998 Mahogany and my NOS 1996 Rick Nielsen signature I imported from Japan to match my 0095 modified Sunburst due to broken head stock repair so owner added a Hamer Schaller Floyd and OBLs and 0166 Darburst which is pristine.

For me, opening the box and finding this Hamer limited numbered 1995 Korina Stdard that reaked of smoke, which I'm allergic too, inside the most moronic case ever manufactured really soured the deal.

I just wsnted to be very clesr that researched these guitars. Did not make my decision lightly and with out deep thought and consideration to availability.

My collection consists of Hamer guitars and basses except my 1st bass Carvin 5 string which was a used custom build and to create one, priced out three years ago was $2400. I paid 1/3 that from GC and it is in excellent condition

It was described as "good condition with case". It has no scratches, major dings or exposed wood and original Carvin Case!

Korina Standard described as "excellent condition", scratches dings, stripped screw heads for pickgard and pickup poles, reaked of smoke, questionable pickups and tail pieces to be replaced and a Hamer Case.

Yes! I did what I thought was the correct move for me.
