Hi all,

https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/gibson-murphy-lab-ultra-light-les-paul-1959-r9-factory-burst-w-ohsc-carmalita-neck-8-5-8-7-lbs.2510196/#post-37925648

I have this guitar posted over on The Gear Page - Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab 1959 Les Paul from the Gibson Demo Shop.  Great neck, sound, weight, and reasonably dark fretboard.  It is technically Ultra Light Aging but had a few more marks on it when I got it, likely why it landed in the demo shop.  The binding was also overrolled according to Gibson but it feels great to me. I am looking to see if any Hamers might come out of the woodwork: Triple Threat? Artist Ultimate?  Korina Vector? Standard Custom?  Limited run BCR / Willcut Stuff?

I prefer stuff with vintage carve necks - .88 -.90 inches at the 1st fret and larger.  This is a great LP, I really have nothing bad to say about it, but I don't play it that much and would rather own other Hamers.  I'm happy to keep it and break it out once a month or so, but trying to guitar hoard a little less as I don't have the time to play like I used to.

Update: I"ve had a bunch of nice offers of 80s Hamers but my preferences really fall into the guitars they released in 2000s, I guess from around 1997-2009 loosely.

I'm in New Jersey.  Local deals are preferred not to waste money on shipping, but shipping is possible.  Putting the $$ at $4975 on this one and can balance with $$ on either side as needed.  Would consider 2 for 1, depending on the guitars and all.

Thanks for your time!

Matt

Haha - trying to pull some Hamers out of collections at the least.  I've had some cool trade offers like a Two Rock Bloomfield Combo and other things that I just don't have use for these days.  Sponsors are good - they can cosign on credit, I've heard.

These are great guitars.  I have four and each of them is exceptional.  The rolled fingerboard is one of the sleeper features.  And eight and a half pounds is the right weight.  Cool.

I've been getting WAY too tempted by the prospect of a super nice 50s Style 'Burst lately...even going to the Gibson Garage tomorrow (and Carter's, Gruhn's, Rumble Seat, etc.) this week just to have a peek around.

Damn...

Carmelita neck......Since they seem to vary a little, can you give the specs on this one?

Sure thing - it's around .89-.90 in at the first fret depth and 1.00 in at the 12th. I think it has fairly modest shoulders, but not like a V.  It's Still fairly C-ish shaped overall.

How about a trade for this 1994 Hamer USA Cali Double neck.

Just saw this.  Thanks for the offer - that is a cool one but I have no use for something like that.

Custombucker Alnico III - stock pickups for the custom shop R( now.

I've got a set that came factory in an SG and they're far and away the best Gibson pickups I've had for classic rock.

Yeah - the bridge pickup on this one is particularly good to me.  I'm sure these sound great in an SG as well!
