santellavision Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 After the passing of Dave Wintz, not sure who's opening the doors again. But, I always dug their pickups. https://www.riograndepickups.com/
deadbeat son Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I heard it was Steamboat Amps, but I don't know if that's accurate. I liked their pickups that I've used in the past, and look forward to their availability again.
ChugD Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 I am not sure that Rio Grande ever went away. I got a big bottom set to make a Machete whole a few years ago. I do love a Muy Grande humbucker.
cynic Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Whoever the new guy is I hope they ditch the douchery in their pickup descriptions.
The Shark Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I'm going to order a set. With fifteen Robin guitars, I think I'll know if they measure up.

ChugD Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 My contribution if they will accept it: "A single coil that sizzles like a porterhouse slapped on a 600 degree BBQ"
DaveL Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I have a half breed Tele pickup (Vintage hot tele wind, just the way I like em) waiting for the right home...

In an industry that uses warm, brown, bloom, punchy, woody and bite to describe sound, not sure how anything they've done would be so terrible.

I think I remember one from SNL that would be a good pup description: " this is a very mischievious pickup, one that almost begs to be put to bed without any supper". - and I love the BBQ Bucker in the bridge of my SS2, which is my favorite guitar of all time.

ChugD Posted December 15, 2023 Posted December 15, 2023 I think it is an orphaned page. Can't seem to find it from the homepage, or it is well hidden....or it is my eyes.
