I saw that announcement this morning! I've seen Purple a few times, but only with Steve Morse (I said "only"...not slighting him at all, but it should be Ritchie!). Oddly enough, I have no Hamers from the 6s, so it's up to you guys for Hamer content. All I can come up with is a '56 Silvertone 1331 (tweed champ-ish, and awesome) and '76 muttocaster (76 neck on a newer Clapton body).

Windex or cheapo similar works great for cleaning low end guitars. I would try a gentle automotive vinyl/leather cleaner, I sometimes use Griots (gree ohs) Interior Detailer, it's not harsh and doesn't seem to leave any visible residue, but it does claim to have a UV protectant so it's leaving something on there. I had asked at the counter at Griots for what they would recommend as a gentle vinyl / tolex cleaner

I'd try Simple Green on an inconspicuous part of the case and see if that works.
