I have a peak esr tester. It doesn't work on small caps. It's excellent on electrolytic, which I think is what it was meant for. I also have a BK precision 810C. I really like that one it measures the tiniest caps other just float open on. So Unless you need the ESR read out the BK 810 C is a nice older unit!

Yeah, he's really the "father of the superstrat", or at least an uncle. Even though I think he sold the company to Grover Jackson in 1978 after bankruptcy, he'd already changed the landscape.

I purchased a custom shop SG from @santellavision a bunch of years ago. It has the Alnico 3 Custom Buckers in it and has THE sound. Playing it immediately turns me into a five foot tall schoolboy.

If it was across town, I'd go get it. Across the ocean, I'm not so quick on the trigger. The thought of having nearly 2% of the entire Graphic production is enticing, though.

Oh man, that's sad to hear. The importance of his shop to the guitar community in the LA area cannot be overstated, and without Charvel, there very possibly would have been no Jackson. The list of people who had worked with his shop, from just getting work done to getting a full custom guitar, reads like a Hall of fame for LA guitarists of the 70s and 80s.
