  2. Prolly more than that, lol! I know that shop. They have a cool selection of guitars/FX/vinyl. I almost got a Greco LP from them, but this was at the tail end of the pandemic, and I had to watch my funds. If they have it again next year, then I’ll definitely make plans for a working vacation and go do it up right. I have Guitar Player magazines, underground comics, vinyl, guitars and effects. If I plan it right, I might be able to actually make some real money.
  3. You'll probably be spending $200 in gas 😳
  4. Today
  5. STOP USING "IBS" unless they're dead. Hell, I thought Rick had up and died on us.
  6. Isn't he that "Guardian Party" dude?
  7. The girl and I drove over to Little Rock to see them at the White Water Tavern. Cool show! I couldn't believe how great they sounded in what was basically a cinder block corner of a dive bar. Talked to the bass player for a second afterward. They keyboard player from Uncle Acid was there, and she saw me looking over at the band and my shirt and kind of had an, "Oh no, this guy is going to talk to me" look (she's quite attractive). Nope - Coming over to talk to the bass player about Italy and Hiwatts! Tilting at windmills is bad enough, but especially when the GF is standing there. Still a lot of good music out there for $15. I genuinely don't know how the smaller bands eat these days, but I respect the hell out of them for making a go of it.
  8. Who the hell is "Rick Neilson"?
  9. I might have come close, but never the cigar for me. Wife and I arrived in Toronto on Wednesday before an Iron Maiden show on Saturday. Rush was playing in Detroit on Friday, and had played there a couple of days before and I saw something in my social feed about a motorcade from the arena to the airport and a private jet flying from there to YYZ, so maybe our feet and their feet were on the same airport property on the same day, but I have no doubt that they didn't leave from the same Uber zone. So we were in the same vicinity, presumably. After check-in wife and I rode up in the elevator with a chatty guy, saying something about how it's disorienting staying in a procession of hotels. Wife comes from a no-small talk culture, and I'm more reticent when not on home turf, so I responded politely but didn't really engage. Turns out we're on the same floor, and he even trails us down the hall - we're in the last room, he's next door. He observes this, and I respond "I hope you don't mind loud parties." He chuckled, said he didn't, and that was that. BUT - I spot more than one Iron Maiden t-shirt in the lobby. And the next couple of mornings we ride down in the elevator with burly-ish men with British accents, aforementioned Iron Maiden shirts and tool belts and bags with Iron Maiden laminated tour passes hanging from them, chatting among themselves about whether to walk to the jobsite and how well the IMAX setup was going. It was about this time that I checked and found that Iron Maiden was to play Toronto on Saturday night. I have zero confidence in my ability to identify any of them mixing with the muggles in the hotel lobby, etc., and besides I figured that they would be hopping over to Detroit to see Rush on Friday since they had the night off, so odds were low to spot the talent during our elevator trips. And from the pic it looks like that's what might have happened, unless they got together in Toronto.

  11. There's a local brewery around the corner as well 🍺
  12. Dang! Steve Harris looks so young since he stopped dying his hair gray.
  13. Thanks, Hammerhead! As I said to Jef, that Alden is a sneaky surprise, a real monster. Incredible effortless player, cool looking, and tonally the mahogany setneck and Godwoods make it a true LP (the good years) killer. And the Duesy can take you from a Bigsby flutter to a Floydy bomber. It's the bargain of the lot. And on that subject- I am open to offers from folks on the board.

  15. Wow, that looks like a lot of fun! Might be worth stuffing my car full of rekkids/guitars and trekking down the I-5.
  16. Scary stuff and he IS such an Integral part of the band Cheap Trick who w/o Rick is..................not "Cheap Trick". Breathlessness.................that could be quite a few things, all of them bad. I hope they are able to find out just what the issue is and he is going to be A-OK. Must have been awful for his son when that happened. Get well ASAP Rick!
  17. That's so cool. Also cool that you have enough people to actually have such a thing attended. And $25 for an exhibition table? Wow!
  18. Dat’s some nice hog, mon.
  19. Gorgeous guitar, and I’ve no doubt that the tuners are original but they read Schaller.
  20. The thing about the AM4 was that it was just odd. Four blocks, but then tons of videos about how to basically work around that it's 4 blocks. They said it has about half the power of the AxeFX III, but then only 4 blocks? To me, it was just confusing. I never liked their interface on device or the editor.
  21. Terrible to hear. Get well, Rick!
  22. Honestly, if you only need a few, Tonex One with the Mvave chocolate plus 4 button MIDI switch is a good, inexpensive combo. Hell, if you only need 2 sounds, the original Tonex One used and just put the two sounds on it and switch between them. One driven but can clean up with volume roll down and a lead.
