  1. Today
  2. So many people missing the obvious...
  3. Wait, wait, wait - isn't that Butters, the drummer from Faith + 1? Phil Collins. Dave Grohl. Now Butters thinks he can go from being the drummer to frontman?
  4. Oh ffs... I've been using Titebond II for decades on all my guitar repairs/modifications without one single issue 🙄.. just got done dowling a couple of Floyd rose posts... sanded flat and painted
  5. I got it. Your quip posted just as I was about to post the same thing. I guess the writes joke themselves here.
  6. I only asked if it played like butter because it was a Shae guitar. You know Shea... Shea butter? No? Nobody?
  7. Yeah. I thought that about Bad Company given they were a bit of a "supergroup". Then I thought about Pearl Jam who also had members from other highly regarded bands (albeit more local than widespread success) coming together. Then I thought that can't be a disqualifier because you'd be left with a pretty short list to choose from if no members could have previous band experience, but would that make 5150 a debut album? In terms of the number of plays a debut album got from me, I'd be hard pressed to guess who came out on top between Boston, Ozzy, and Pearl Jam but I'll go with the latter.
  8. Same could be said for LZ... I'll try another...
  9. Both are great but it feels Ozzy should be in a different category. Not his first band.
  10. This set would be 4k new, located in Peoria, IL will meet between Chicago, Indianapolis, STL, Iowa. I may also be at the Indiana Guitar Show Sept 26/27 and the Chicago Vintage Guitar Show Oct 11th.
  11. The finish is hard to photograph. It's definitely VOS with a light patina of swirl marks and small dents that are visible if you hold it in direct light. It looks nearly new from a few feet away.
  12. “BBC in Concert” is phenomenal. RBs solo on, “Speed King” is unmatched in its humor and cleverness. Trading fours on,“Strange Kind of Woman”, with Gillian scatting is so cool.
  13. Didn't know that. Great info!
  14. All of that. 14 to 16-year-old me loved Richie Blackmore. Still have the vinyls here, stuck on the wall.
  15. Of all her songs, 'Jolene' is the one that makes me want to stab pencils in my ears the most.
  16. Quick update..... I received the Cruise on Tuesday. I will be spending some time with it next week. I had noticed cracks in the finish from the photographs posted but decided it still needed a good home. My eyes didn't deceive me the body has cracks in the finish around the strap button. Appears to be cosmetic only so I am not to concerned about it. Still a beautiful bass and glad it's been added to my instruments. More updates to come and thanks again.
  17. Yeah... I purchased a spare for every hamer I have that has the dang barrel jack, just in case they ever discontinue them. Not likely considering how many other companies use them for jacks on the side of a rounded body.
  18. Yeah... only the original. Titebond II and III are intended for wood that may be outdoors, and remain rubbery, unlike the original Titebond.
  19. You get a free bowl of soup with that hat? 🤣
  20. I've got lots of her music and have been doing a deep dive. This is one my favorite covers of hers:
  21. VH-1 or Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz
  22. Soooo many options here. Boston was a good one. I'll likely vote multiple times here...
  23. Who had the best debut album? I have to go with Boston - great musicianship, not a note out of place, strong songs throughout (well, 'Let Me Take You Home Tonight' wasn't as good as the rest IMHO, but not unlistenable. Everything else on there could have been released as singles). Even they were never able to match it. And that it was all done without computer assistance makes it that much more impressive.
