RobB Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Kurt, is that their high-gain head? Mojave had a big booth at the Marin guitar show and somebody did a demo playing old Aerosmith songs and just nailed a vintage Marshall/LP sound.
Steve Haynie Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 What's the story on Mojave amps? I remembered a thread in the Outer Circle about how one Mojave dealer was getting screwed by the company. Did Mojave change hands?

HAMERMAN Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 If you still own the amp six months from now I will know it's the real deal. :-)
ArnieZ Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 Re the feud between the dealer and Victor Mason: I didn't get the impresion it was reslovable, maybe financial restitution but no feel good hug it out kind of thing. Unfortunately his actions and response to the dealer certainly cast him in a bad light. On the good side, Mojave amps are supposed to be great sounding!ArnieZ

Because we like trainwrecks and drama. I've got nothing against Mojave. Sounds like a great amp.

I've wanted one for a while now. I've read though that when you dial the power back, the tone definitely suffers.Give 'er a thorough workout and let us know???http://www.mojaveampworks.com/

Usually I'd say "none of my business" and just chalk it up to an entertaining read. But in this case I've gotta say that I would hesitate pass on buying a Mojave based on the e-mail exchange. You're talking about relatively small companies here. Imagine buying an amp with a problem and having to deal with someone with this kind of potential for 'tude. Life's too short and there are many alternatives. That's why this matters. Just my opinion - and I don't doubt that the amp design itself is wonderful.
