  1. OK - I know it's not American, but I had to add this. It's the band's own beer. At our last show, we sold 9 UK kegs at the venue bar (about 630 pints) We're bottling this from August onwards - so PM me your address and I'll throw some samples in the mail. Same goes for any other HFC member who fancies a super-strong traditional black English ale made with 6 different malts. Note to belgian - you'd like this. Think of a micro-brewed, slightly sweeter Leffe bruin or one of the darker triple Trappist beers from your great country, and you'll be on the right track..... http://s433.photobucket.com/user/kevinbower1959/media/6d25c633-b062-47f6-bb66-b51e05d27cb9_zps3082cb9d.jpg.html'>

  2. Indeed. Vik...at this point in time the US is second only to the Belgians in variety and quality of beers. Don't get me wrong, the Brits still brew several of my all time favorites..Sam Smith Taddy Porter is my all time fave...but some of the top shelf stuff from the US stacks right up there with anything from any other country and that includes the Belgians.

  3. Cool Feel. After the ones on the floor, I don't see 'You know who' excepting any new orders. Unless they are sneaked in the back door. In which case, one of us will hold the door open! Bm

  4. David B. I checked with Dave Brown and it is still with him. We are excited to get on it along with the other ones. Because of the overall low workforce doing Guild, there is 9 hours of Guild work to do in 8 hours, which on a daily basis means time has run out again. I personally don't understand why 2-3 years ago they didn't contact everybody and explain the deal. It really has been driving us nuts. The only thing I can say is, focus in on everyone recently who have been waiting for an eternity for theirs. All of a sudden, one day it shows up. After that, the wait doesn't seem so bad. I'm actually shocked that all of you didn't cancel your orders over the past couple of years. Uh, the ice cream man is outside. Be right back.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... ........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... ................................................................................... Damn, no purple micro-dot again! Bm

  7. Americans can't make beer! They can make fizzy piss! I'm English, I know about these things... OK, so that's just a joke to get you choking on your pints! I know nothing of American beer but in the old days, Brits accepted that the US beers are too weak. We drink Tiger Beer as it's vegan & really tasty. Most beers are cleared (cleaned) using isinglass (fish bladders) so we don't drink 'most beers'...

  9. Ask locals and buy what they recommend (and don't believe the labels). Beer is another concept in the States than in Europe, but I had some pretty amazing beers from micro breweries.

  13. That one's come a long way since last fall! Of course, it looked great then too, but is totally over the top now. I'll be working about 15-20 minutes from New Hartford in a couple weeks...will have to squeeze in a quick visit, if at all possible!

  14. And again, this is just a perfect custom order. Gorch, you appear to have all of the suitable gear to bring out the best in this gutiar, so I think you should keep it. Zorrow's gonna' run it through a Pignose simulator or something ridiculous.

  16. ...continued as for forum limits. Now from the back. Connected! Sound's like a real Red Special to me. Very nice too, the original style head with locking tuners. The guitar perfectly stays in tune. Sound makers. Burns Tri Sonics. The guitar plays great, sounds exactly as expected. And certainly looks killer. Doesn't it?

  17. Sorry for late posting. I had a hard father's day yesterday and I'm still recovering. Well, I've done my job and opened a bottle of good red wine to celebrate the box opening. Here it goes... Tasty red wine first. We want to enjoy. Wait! What's in there? Look at that. Black nose appearing. This is already telling a story. Hard shell case in V shape. Safely packaged. Eyes wide open. This is it. Out of the box, next to the Bo. To be continued...

  18. I don't want to hijack the thread, so i'll start and end with, that Cali is seriously cool. Great job all around. Todd - great to see you here in the forum. I had a CO done a couple years ago through BCRGreg. You guys in the shop knocked it out of the park, plain and simple. Every CO i've seen since then has been just as kewl (the "Tiger Eye" Tally, the black quilt-top12 string standard bass, the red SS2 with tumbling Boomers, the Impact bass, etc...) You folks have done a lot of great work, and you should be very proud of the legacy you've created. We all hope that the status on the Hamer brand will change (i'm still in denial...), but in the mean time, we have a lot of killer guitars out here thanks to you, Mike, Tom, Gary, David, and i'm sure others that i've missed. Thank you all. And that Cali is seriously cool.
