  1. Mine has an ebony board, which I really like. It also has a 1st fret inlay, which some around here don't like, but I do.

  2. My Studio Custom has an ebony board and it spoils me every time I play it.

  3. My un-chambered 06 Monaco Elite is 8.4 pounds, which to me an ideal single cut weight.

  4. 2500$ sounds like a pretty damn good deal to me if it's a nos guitar. That price seems to be the going rate for these on the used market right now. Try finding another nos, unplayed one, out there. They are not making them anymore. The HFC really have the cheapest sons a bitches as members when it comes down to paying money for a guitar. Especially if they are Hamer's. 😁 😄 😁 😄

  5. I owned a 2002 Monaco Elite in BCR Burst that was chambered. It weighed seven pounds and 13 ounces. The chambered Monaco Elites seem to be relatively rare.

  6. Hi everyone! It's been a few years since I've done this as I typically tie it to Shishkov batch orders and getting rid of extra parts, B-stock pickups, and a few oddballs I build out just for kicks! This one is going to be a little different in that it's 100% Hamer-Specific early days reproductions. Brass frames, top quality and same as OEM. I've got enough for a dozen sets and a few extra 50mm bridge pickups. Additionally, I have six 52.5mm frames and for those of you with certain Sustainblock bridges or Floyd Rose or Kahler-equipped guitars who want ideal string-to-pole spacing, I am please to be able to accommodate with this. This is a very limited offering and if you're a HFC Supporting Member, you get the deepest discount. If you're reading this and are not an HFC Member, hey just do it: Join up! Support the coolest guitar forum on the internet by signing up and getting with our great community here! It's a great crew of people here and we'd love to have you with us. Specs: It's brass frames with all and they are exactly like squarefoot models of the early days. Roughcast Alnico 5 magnets, original spec with the internal grades of steel bits and exactly right down to the ferrous steel bobbin mounting screws. The single coils feature .671L/.187D A5 rod magnets. I fabricate the brass frames for these right here in my shop because no parts supplier offers them. *Pricing for HFC Members: Humbuckers, $120/ea. Single coils, $90/ea. Free USPS Priority Shipping! *Non-HFC Member Pricing: $150/ea. for humbuckers, $120/ea. for single coils. Free USPS Priority Shipping! You choose your favorite Hamer pickup model (PAF-type or any Slammer Prototype/Phantom variation humbucker or single coil V1, V2, V3), your choice of bobbin colors (Black, White, Ivory, or any combination there), and finally your choice of output leads: vintage braided single conductor, 2 conductor + ground, or 4 conductor + ground. Single coils come with PVC Black and White output leads, just as the originals did. I will happily advise on matched, balanced Neck and Bridge humbucker sets if you so desire. If you want covers, the ones I use are made and plated in Nashville, USA, and the best ones out there. +$20/each. Hamer PAF-type humbucker average spec: 7.7k +/- neck and 8.3k +/- bridge. Hamer Slammer Proto/Phantom humbucker average specs: V1: 10.6k +/- bridge with a 10.3k +/- neck. The V2 bridge is 12.3k +/-, and V3 bridge is 15.6k +/-. Hamer Slammer Proto/Phantom Single coil average specs: V1: 5.4k +/-, V2: 6.9k +/-, and V3: 7.8k +/- And finally, I will also build a few oddball humbucker extras using B-Stock bobbins that have mild scratches and scuffs that can't be sold "As New", posting them in this thread at discounted prices. First come, first serve with these at $100.00 - Free USPS Priority Shipping! To confirm your custom order, message me Here or at josh@gravelinpickups.com and claim your set! I have PayPal and Venmo for payments. Thank You!

  7. With a description like this, and a stupid asking price, no wonder they're never going to sell it! "Featuring a mild weight that is far more bearable than a solid maple guitar, this Korina beauty hums with resonance and articulation. Be on your best performance with this one-of-a-kind guitar, because it will pick up every dynamic of your playing style--the perfect streaks as well as the accidental notes that you played"

  8. I was lucky enough to see Frank Zappa live on five different occasions. A guy I knew would bring a blow up sex doll to every Zappa show in Cleveland, walk right down the aisle and hand it to Frank on stage. The last time I saw Frank in Cleveland, when my buddy came down the isle carrying a classic blow up sex doll, Frank stopped the band, turned around, picked up something on a table behind him, and when he turned back around he had a chin strap dildo with the dildo straight up on the top of his head. My buddy hands Frank the doll, Frank Fkn Zappa takes that blow up doll, inserted the dildo and proceeded to "spin it on his head" as the band played a never heard before and never heard again song called "I think Ill go to Cleveland and spin a blow up sex doll on my head." The fact that Frank Zappa took the time to write this song and be prepaired with a custom strap on dildo ready for a moment that may or may not happen was priceless entertainment that could never be impromptu repeated again.

  10. I had a Monel GoldTop P90 that weighed 12lbs 3oz. Heaviest guitar I ever owned. Sounded frickin awesome!! I was younger then, nothing over 8 lbs now!

  11. Beautiful guitar, but 11 lbs? On a Custom Order?? HTF does that even happen? Did the guy ask for 'something heavier than a Les Paul' and they filled it with lead? Jeezus! I can understand it happening on a regular production model, but not on a CO. I think I know what killed the poor bastard.

  12. Being a fairly competent guitarist really is going from feeling like one of the best to ever do it one show to feeling like you should just sell all your gear and never mentioned every having been a musician the next.

  13. I hope he is well. He is a legend. ( @Brooks Born Again is not Sabs greatest effort though, but it has it's moments. My biggest problem on that album is Gillans "singing". I think he just screams his way through the whole album. Very annoying after a while 😅 )
