I talked to Dimarzio some months ago regarding getting a set of 36th Anniversarys closer to Hamer PAF specs. However, their "custom shop" is not nearly as good as Seymour Duncans, where you seem to be able to order just about anything you want - just as long as it isn't double cremes. Dimarzio refuses to sell me a pair of 36th Anniversary that are un-potted. The original Hamer paf's are not potted, that is a very important ingredient to the sauce. I don't know why DImarzio refuses to do this, (actually I think I do, I think they are afraid that If I buy them and they put them through a rectefier amp and they squel, that I will complain on their product quality on forums like this. They don't want that. Non potted pups are not for high gain, I know that). None the less, it's not customer friendly and was a huge turn of for me for buying new Dimarzio pickups. Here are the outputs on my old Dimarzio pups: 4 digit Standard bridge - 8,51 neck 7,50 4 digit Standard bridge 8,73 neck 8,24 79 Sunburst Custom bridge 8,87 neck 8,40 79 Sunburst Custom bridge 8,22 neck 8,17 82 Schenker Vector bridge 8,43 neck 7,72 (sold) 86 Sunburst bridge 8,45 neck 8,28 If you want a more exact version of the old DImarzio PAF:s you should try to order two original DP103 Dimarzio paf pickups, wound with slighty more mids and to the output specs above. That would be more correct. AND if possible un-potted, and also on a Dimarzio BRASS base plate - as the originals. Even if you go with the 36's check if you can order them with the brass base plate instead. I think you still can put an order with them for the original DP103 paf, they are just not a catalogue item anymore.

Pretty much what I said, Greg. Glad I'm not the only one who feels this is an appropriate response. That is beyond shit-house rat crazy fucked up. There is no plausible excuse for that shit. I'd have beaten the little fucker within and inch of his purple life. Jail time or not, I'd a beaten him so he'd remember the pain that comes with being a complete and utter douche bag. Still, this is like nothing to what Ozzy and Sharon have done to Ozzys band members etc in the past. Taking them out of the old records on re-releases, replacing their played parts with newly recorded parts from new players, treating Jake E Lee like shit, humiliating deal offers to Bill Ward so that he refuses to be in the BS reunion etc, etc, etc. Same with Van Halen and the Anthony thing, photoshoping him out of old record covers etc etc. Johnny Ramone, stole Joey's girlfriend, he was also a nazi etc. Joey never forgave him. Far worse than breaking a guitar in my book. There are lots more old rock farts out there that deserves a good hard fist in the face. Just saying.... -

Pandemonium is on my All Time Greatest Albums list. It's all killers, no fillers. I've seen Prince live perhaps five times, but never The Time. Would love to see them. They released an album a year ago under the name The Original 7ven. It's actually as good, or even better, than anything Prince put out in recent years. It was released on a smaller label though, so I don't know how much it sold. Check it out. It's called Condensate. The original line up.Jesse, Monte, Terry, Jellybean, Jimmy Jam. -

Here're some gaps in my awareness... Got'ny anecdotes along these lines? Here's the story. It's well known, Jesse has confirmed it more than once: http://www.princevault.com/index.php/Shockadelica " Shockadelica was released as the b-side of If I Was Your Girlfriend, the second single from Prince's ninth albumSign O' The Times. The 12" version of the single contained the original full-length version, which was edited down for the 7" single. In 1993, the edited version was included as the tenth track on The B-Sides compilation (included as the third and final disc on The Hits / The B-Sides). Initial tracking took place on 16 September, 1986 at Prince's Galpin Blvd Home Studio, Chanhassen, MN, USA (two days after Coco Boys) after hearing that Jesse Johnson's forthcoming album was titled Shockadelica but had no title track. Prince felt that every album with a great title should contain a title track, but it seems that the song was not intended for Jesse Johnson, and was instead more of a joke to give the impression that Jesse Johnson stole the title from Prince. Prince sent the finished song to Jesse Johnson on an audio cassette. The track was premiered on Minneapolis radio station KMOJ a couple of days after it was recorded (a few weeks before Jesse Johnson's album was released). The song was included as the fifth track on the aborted Camille album (credited to the pseudonymCamille), and Shockadelica was intended as a single to be released around the same time as the album. The track was included as the first track on the third disc as the Camille album developed into the triple-album Crystal Ball. On both albums, the track was followed directly by Good Love. Both tracks were removed when the album was eventually pared down and became Sign O' The Times. " He also fired Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis from The Time because the took production work for other artists. They did some songs for SOS band and got caught in a snow storm, which led to a missed gig with The Time. Prince fired them after that incident. They didn't exactly suffer though, as they continued to produce Janet Jackson and other major artists. -

Listen, His Royal Badness rrrrripped it up on the guy's axe and thought, "This scrub will never be able to match my awesomeness if he played it for the rest of his life," so he probably figured he owed it to the guitar to end its life while it is still on that high. It's like when Jerry Lee Lewis sets his piano on fire. No one is going to rip it up like The Killer after that, so the piano should be burned. Now did I hear someone say: "AMEN"! lolz Seriously Kiz, I came to work today and got the news that a colleague passed away last night. Your posts in this thread totally made my day. Performance was cool. Throwing the guitar to the ground, not cool. Usually his roadie fetches them when he throws them up in the air, but he threw this one to the side. Either he was into the performance, or he was seing Kirk Douglas as some kid of competition. He's know for being rude to other guitarplayers, he was really mean to Jesse Johnson as well when he wanted to go solo in the 80's. Well, well he's a Jehovas witness so I guess the higher powers forgives him for this kinda stuff (said with great irony). I hope his management reimburses Kirk for the damage done. I dunno what to think of that band though. I would so prefer to see Levi Seacer JR on backing guitars, and Michael Bland on drums, from the old NPG band. They had a little more weight to them, so to speak. -
I didn't know who Wolf Hoffman was, had to Google.

I'm in awe, still. -
I sooo want one of those. I don't have a Hamer bass. I need a Hamer bass. One the good side, those have to many strings for me. I like a bass with three or four strings - that's enough. The key to playing bass is not to move your hand around to much. There is no money above the fifth fret, same goes for the amount of strings I reckon. Congrats to three beautiful instruments!!!

Aztec Gold looks awesome! Especially on Korina. But those two Super Pros both look killer, I'd be happy with either one of them.

None of the above. It just gives me a headache. -
"I have too many guitars so this one has to go. It's one of the best in the collection... ...sounds awesome... etc. etc.." Then you know it's NOT the best in his collection. "I am selling this one and keeping my Les Paul, but this one sounds/plays better". Why are you selling the best one then dumb ass, probably because it's really CRAP. "This is the best guitar I've ever played, but I am selling is as I found something new I want". Yeah, right. It's probably utter SHITE and that is why you are looking to replace it.
-
I dunno. I want new ones every day. But I know I'd like a Monaco III, A Talladega and something older - like a nice graphic Prototype or a cool sustainblock Phantom. 80s' baby! Edit: But I've wanted this one since I first saw a picture of it:

Btw, can you use the original grill cloth, handle and metal corners on the new cabinett? I would have tried to keep as much as possible of the old stuff. I played my Deluxe Reverb II last night. It's my most favourite Fender amp ever. With some of my old Hamer's it sounds like pure heaven. But I've always wanted to try a real 1960's DR. Maybe some day. They are so expensive here. Usually around 2 500 dollars or more for a nice example. Way out of my price range. Does it sound great for both clean and overdriven sounds? Here is a clip of a silver face that sounds great over driven. Mine has a bit more mids when I crank it. But I think it might be that I have an Eminence, and in this clip it's a Celestion. My speaker (R,W&B ) does both the cleanish Fendersounds great, and the overdriven sounds. It's a mix between a US and UK speaker in sort. -
