  1. I have heard demand is so high that they have already found counterfeit copies from China.
  2. I've never listened to George Lynch, so I can't comment on anything regarding the tone or the style of playing. But Zen rips in this one for sure. Truly impressing. I wish I had 5% of that talent. It looks like he's having a ton of fun as well. That's cool. The guy can do a great De Martini, and an awesome Eddie and now he does the Lynch as well. Super cool. Geoff, if you plan to do another recording with that pup it would be fun to hear how it sounds through like an old Bassman setting, or a Plexi with mild drive. How does it do an old school rock tone, with moderate gain?
  3. I pm'd you Serial. If you can get them signed I'd like two copies from you. Possible? I'd like one as well! Disturber, could we do a Swedish package of some kind? If it's doable then I'm in. Sentinel might be interested as well.

  5. UK's Celestions are made in China now too, as are many products from historical British audio companies such as Wharfedale, KEF, Cambridge Audio, Musical Fidelity...Mirage, Energy, and most other speakers out of Canada are now made in China too. It's all part of the fun of a globalized economy. Yes. But you don't have to agree to this crap. I have decided that no "made in china" crap will come in to my music gear. It's just not rock n roll to play stuff that's been made in a communist dictatorship country. If I can I have set it as a rule to pay a little more and choose to buy goods that is made in the western world. I'm not all anal about it, but I do what I can. I rather buy less stuff, but good stuff. Same when it comes to the childrens toys. So much crap to buy. For Celestion speakers. I buy used "made in the UK", or new "made in the UK", rather than "made in china". They might not be better. But Just Because I can.
  6. I thought it was agreed that this book should contain a lot of picks from the Booties, Boobies and Kickers threads. But I don't see any. I am deeply disappointed.

  8. I think the binding used comes from Italy. Supplier? Haven't got a clue... Cicilian mafia? Could have been any of these families: Lucchese, Bonanno, Gambino, Genovese, or Colombo.
  9. Serious GAS that one gives...
  10. Congrats! I've had mine since January and I love it. It has a really sweet neck profile too. The lower you set the pickups the more wood you dial in to the tone. It took a while for me to find a good balance between the neck and the bridge. If the tone control is not to your satisfaction try the Murkat mod, mentioned in your other thread. My tone control works just great as is. The original Duncan SM2 and SM3 pickups in my Eclipse are wound by Marcela Jurarez. I guess that the fact that they are now almost 20 years old contribute to that they are slightly microphonic. They sound and feel very much like custom wound pups. They don't have any of that compressed feeling of the ordinary Duncan humbuckers. These are open and airy, almost like they are un-potted (like their Antiquity Firebird pups). Just great pickups with a flavour of their own. Duncan call the SM2 a "higher output" pup, but I don't feel they are hot at all. It is just a good thing as they can be set further from the strings and still don't sound weak. When set further from the strings the treble becomes softer, the bass a little looser, and they get a more vintage type of response.
  11. Go for it! I think I paid about 800 Euros for mine, that would be a little more in dollars I guess. Even if you'd pay 1000 dollars for that one I'd consider it a good deal. My T62 is the best strat I've had yet, and it's a keeper. The price tag from when it was new is still left on mine, on the trem cavity cover, I think it says something like 2100 dollars.
  12. We all hope that we one day once more will have custom orders built by you guys! Great work!
  13. Congrats. I like everything about it, (except for that under arm that is air sprayed on the front. They should have stayed with just the checker board pattern....)
  14. Here's my board that I set up recently. It's a Warwick rock case that I bought used. It has a built in power supply for 9 and 12 volts. And a loop. The case it kinda big, but it's really well built. Thanks to Carfish7 I got neat Lavacables for it too. The Loopbone Big Shot is a great buffer unit with a booster function. You can set it so that your tone is almost identical to when you plug straight in to the amp. The AD80 is a great analog delay, very warm and tube/tape like, the DOD flanger has been with me since 1984. The Fulldrive and the Catalyst are both among the first 100 built, both sounds great. The Small Stone and the Coloursound are funky. There is also an Ibanez 10 series Loop Selector. Both loops can be boosted and it has a built in buffer that sounds better than the buffers in my Boss pedals, it's fairly transparent and does not colour the tone. http://s105.photobucket.com/user/disturber/media/Annat/PedalBoardDisturber_zps51b2b356.jpg.html'> I just need to attach some fresh velcro to some of the pedals and perhaps tidy up the cables.... I also have an old 1970's Electro Harmonix Memory Man Deluxe, a 1970's EH Zipper and a 1970's Phase 90 that I use. But they come out for recording mostly. I don't keep them on the board.
  15. I have a new car. We'll not 100% new, but it's new for me, ha ha!
  16. No, only KFC chicken - the sponsor.
  17. Email or message me. Steve, I sent you a PM yesterday re 2 books. Please check your inbox.
  18. I choose string gauge more on how the guitar sounds than if it's easy to bend. Sometimes 0,10's sound to distinct and harsh on a perticular guitar, then I go with 0,09's. My T51 likes the 0,10's, my T62 likes the 0,09's - that's when they sound best.
  19. I used 0.09's all the time until about ten years ago when I switched to 0,10's. During this year I started using 0,09's again on some guitars. I use nines on the T62 and on the Super Pro. And sometimes on one of my Sunbursts. I get a really Jimmy Pagey sound from that Sunburst with nines. I still use tens on the other guitars, but I'm experimenting. I think that nines work better on 25,5 guitars, and tens on the 24-3/4 scale fiddles. But it's like pickup and magnets really, some guitars seem to work best with nines or tens. I guess one could try thinner or thicker strings as well but these does it for me. As for strings I have been using Daddario XLs or SIT's. I have bought Pyramids round wound nickels lately. Very nice strings, made the way they did them back in the 50s.
  20. That Tinted Windows CD with Bun E Carlos and James Iha sure has some rockin' guitar solos - over some great power pop songs. Check it out.
  21. Most expensive was the Hamer Korina Standard that I bought new. I'll loose money when I sell that one, but It's so great I'll only sell if if I'll stop playing completely. Then I bought a used 4-digit and a Sunburst that I'll probably be able to sell for more than what I paid for them. It will probably even itself out in the end. If I don't take them all with me to the grave. Then my sons will have to deal with trying to figure out what this bloody crap pile of guitars are, and move them if they want, or keep them if they want.
  22. Does the poll mean "expensive" as in what I expect the value to be if I sell it (some kind of estimated market value)? Or the amount of money I paid for the guitar?
