And it doesn't even have Schablotnicks innit!

That was fun to watch. Nice Hamer too, is that an original finish. Like it.

I have an early 80's Duncan Custom that is awesome for a hot paf. One of the best I've tried. If you can locate an old one you can't go wrong. It's hot though. But sounds like a good paf should.

Miles Davis -- The Complete Columbia Recordings 6CD box set. The Soup Dragons -- Hydrophonic - mid 90's Manchester groove meets LA Bootsy Collins -- Tha Funk Capital of tha World Foo Fighters -- Wasting Light Rush -- Vapor Trails -
I got it on vinyl. It's a double that spins on 45. Sounds fab! I compared it to The Color and the shape which I also have on vinyl. It's a much cheaper pressing, the difference in sound quality is HUGE between the two.

Only one thing I really dislike about that Standard. It's not in my stash of Hamers -
Most Unique Hamer Ever Made (highly custom)

Uncle Rick probably has the most unique Hamer's out there. The five necks, the Uncle Rick one with his removable head etc. But this Madam X Hamer is pretty weird as well...> -

Happy B-day. -
You know that now you have an option to put a Floyd on that thing, right! . . . . . . someone had to say it.
-
Perhaps the reason is that the formula was impossible to repeat one more time. The first album was okay, the rest sounded pretty much the same.

FWIW, that's not exactly how they word it. It's: "The last of the remaining warehoused Hamer's are here." Which to me, means they had something to say and hype, but they gave it thought and used words that *wouldn't* make it sound like "these are the last Hamer's ever". Yes, on their front page that is. And that is good. But clicketycklick on the link http://www.willcuttguitars.com/the-last-hamer-guitars And it says : "The Last USA Hamer Guitars (38) You Are Here >> The Last USA Hamer Guitars " FCUK, a new Steve Stevens II being made right now. How cooool is that. Back to the glory of the 80's I want a full tone report on that one. Pics down to the last detail, and I also want you to play Polk salad Annie on it and send a youtube link. SSII cheez, who woulda thought.... Great news.

I surfed in at Willcutts and saw this "The Last USA Hamer Guitars (39)" on their site. I hope it means their stock items. They will still take custom orders and be a Hamer dealer, right? What have been orderas as of lately by the folks on this board? Post pics and let us know what is cookin´. The workshop blog has not been updated as of lately. I want to see some new wonders!

I bought a bunch of kryo-treated tubes in the last batch I ordered. I must say that the preamtubes sounds stunningly good. I have tried a new reissue Mullard, a Sovted and a Tung Sol. If it's humbug or a factor that makes a difference I don't know, could be that the tubes are carefully chosen too - but they sound better than the non kryo versions I have tried of these tubes. Could be something worth trying for those, like me, who are tired of spending big bucks on NOS tubes and finding them go microphonic in my combo amps after just a few months of use.

I hope its not that bad. WFT? I think Chinese Democracy is a killer album. Great songs, arrangments, mixing and mastering. It really grows, took a while to get into it. Now I think it's a classic.

I run old RCA blackplates in my DRII. It came with TAD's when I bought it and they were great sounding too. If i would need to buy a new pair I'd buy them over a set of NOS, they are good enough in the "price vs. what you get" equation. In my super champ I have a pair of old Raytheon 6V6's. Those are my personal favourites. So much warmth to them. I like them better than the RCA's. But that is just me Try the TAD's. I think you will be surprised how good they sound. And even if they don't last as long as a pair old old tubes, you can easily afford to replace them once a year - or so.

Well there is the story about the 4-digit Standard... I was up north skiing and a friend called me when im in the slope, said there was an old Hamer for sale on the internet. Local sale. When I came back to town, like a week later, the ad was still up so I shot the guy an email with some questions. I didn't have the cash he was asking so I could not buy it then. It didnt sell and one or two months later I mailed him an offer, about a two thirds of what he was asking. He declined the offer. I mailed him again after another couple of months, he still decleined backing down on the price. Then I kinda forgot about the guitar for a while. I think the ad was up for about seven, eight months, then I saw it again. I sent him another email asking him if he would go down some on the price, I had some cash then and thought I could pay more than I had first offered. He declined backing down on the price again. Then about a year after I first heard about the guitar I got a mail from the guy. He seemed in need of cash quickly. I was offered to buy it at a lower price. We sent some mails back and forth and suddenly he was ready to sell for what I first had offered. Swell. I got a 1979 Standard! This was perhaps seven years ago. I don't think an old Hamer up for sale would last more than a week now. The word has spread.

I think it warried regarding to which year your SS was made. I had an early SS1 with a slammer in the 9-10K range. My 1989 SSII has a Slammer that has an output around 16,64K, and I am pretty sure the later SS1's I've tried had hotter pups too. Edit; Do try both and let us know which one sounds best. I am curious about the 10K slammers, would like to try one.

I can remember a clip, but not the film, of where she is walking around a tiny bikini. She's hot, you can use earplugs. -
I sure wish he sells lots of guitars at those prices. Imagine what will happen to other guitars designed by Jol, or all Hamers for that matter. The used prices will go sky high Other than that I see a telecaster being spray painted, not that inovative. And a very ugly headstock with a very non glossy finish. Makes me think of goth or nu metal, or something worse. Not cool. So I guess they are not for me.
