  1. No I am not wrong. Here are the recent articles, in Swedish: They have paid one million. A figure they decided they were comfortable with, not nearly the amount they are bound to pay: http://www.sydsvensk...-i-stim-pengar/ Here is their open letter to Stim form last week, full of wrong accusations and plain fact errors: http://www.aftonblad...icle14874821.ab Here is Stims open reply setting all the facts straight: http://www.musikindu...weden_Rock.html Here is the open letter to Sweden Rock signed by many Swedish musicians and bands - from Dark Funeral among others, I think you gigged with them, they'll tell you the truth about this situation. http://mobil.aftonbl....ab?partner=www And more here: http://www.aftonblad...icle14890658.ab Other info on this problem from last year: http://www.stimblogg...-rock-kvarstar/ Use Google translet to read it in english. It's a festival with great bands. It's just run by greedy people who likes to set their own rules and don't care about laws and regulations regarding copyright issues etc. I know many who has visited this festival for years that will bojcott this year because of this. If they paid you Kevin then I am happy for you. It's just that not everyone gets paid.
  2. That is a shite festival run by gangsters unfortunately. They pay the bands according to the negotiated contracts but they have for years refused to pay the performance money to the songwriters - to the Swedish writers association STIM, (who is working close with PRS in the UK - they even have a company together called ICE who takes care of all copyright registrations. http://www.stim.se/e...ht-Enterprise-/ ). This festival makes a HUGE profit. Way better than any other festival here, and then we are talking big festivals run by Live Nation and other big players. Yet ALL the other promoters and concert arrangers pay their performance money without complaining. But the guys who run Sweden rock bag millions every year in their own pockets and they have done everything they can trying to miscredit STIM. They have tried to take them to court etc. And last week they wrote a letter full of lies and misinterpretations in one of our largets newspapers accusing STIM for a lot of un true facts. A lot of major Swedish writers wrote an open letter back to them, backing STIM and their fellow foreign writers who comes to play this festival every year, apparently knowing nothing about the fact that they don't get paid as writers for performing there. STIM also wrote an open reply setting the facts straight, making these festival arrangers looking pretty sinister and greedy. The festival tickets are also bloody expensive, considering the huge profit these guys make. They could cut the price in half and still make a decent profit. If you have contact with other bands playing this festival please let them, and their managments, know about this fact. Perhaps if the performing acts know about this fact they can actually together start putting some demands on these guys to do right by themselves. They are nothing buy thieves.
  3. Congrats! Love the checkerd finish. That one looks classic!
  4. This place can be a great help when deals go bad. I once got scammed by a fellow in Florida on two vintage Dimarzio pups. As I'm in Europe I couldn't exactly go over and whack him on the head. But the fine folks here on the HFC helped me track down the music store where he worked, took some detective time and I'm very grateful to those who helped out. I contacted his boss man and told him one of his employees was a hustler. Two weeks later the pups arrived in my mail box. So, see if you can find out where he works and try this, it might work....
  5. You can use the V as a crotch. Just slide it under you arm pit facing down. Vectors are very versatile.
  6. Go Super Pro- that is a totally different beast with its semi hollowness and the longer scale. I love mine. I love the Newport too. Can't go wrong with either. Both are quite unique in there designs, not with run of the mill standard features.
  7. What are those small combos? Are they the new one watter Ltd series?
  8. I'll crank my two Marshalls this weekend and play the blues for Jim.
  9. Congrats. I´d love me one of those.
  10. Know a guy who writes songs for them.
  11. Yes, I use something similar from Turtlewax. Works like a charm. Be careful though, buffing to hard might actually remove the finish down to the wood.
  12. I needed something to clear the mind today. It's a great band. You can probably check them out on Spotify.
  13. I blasted some 90's Swedish industrial rock in the car today. Peace love and pitbulls - they were a huge influence on Marilyn Manson back then, Trent Reznor listened in as well and picked up influences. They were ahead of their time. Great, great band.
  14. No one likes the DONE WITH MIRRORS album? That is the album that made me discover them for real. It's a very raw sounding album. I still like it. edit: I especially like the guitartones on the album. They sound so room miked and ambient, gives the production a very live feeling. The album is produced by Ted Templeman. He knows how to make a rock band sound great. Bruce Fairbairn just ruined their sound, slick slick no humph. He killed AC/DC as well with the albums he did with them.
  15. Those are very "late 80's" for sure. Cool in a very time typical way. Do they come with a Wonderbar?
  16. I remember reading on this board that even in the best of times, Hamer USA was barely if at all profitable. It was the import line that really drove the profitability of the Hamer brand. My guess is that if the Hamer custom shop were spun off, it wouldn't survive a year. If they re-position the brand and downsize they could. Gustavsson and Huber can survive, why should Hamer not be able to do that? They target the same customer group(s). I'd say if they would start over independently with a good plan they could even grow as a brand. They just need to be smart and do it properly. I am not saying it's an easy route to travel, but it's definately doable.
  17. Are Hamer doing any marketing now what so ever? Or is Fender relying on word of mouth, or that old fans of the brand will buy? That is a very dangerous route to go, the brand will decline more and more if they don't do any marketing to attract new customers. Fender should try to reposition the brand. It can be done and I am pretty sure Fender has a very professional marketing deptartment that can create a great long term "how to reposition" plan. They should track down a few, exclusive number of interesting talented artists/guitarplayers to work with so that the guitars are visible on stage. They should target their interest groups and work hard to rebuild the brand within those groups. Fender did re-build Gretsch as a brand. And they re-launched Charvel with a strong filosophy for the brand - with good results results as far as I can tell. why can't they do the same with Hamer? They just seem so very un-interested in Hamer it is scary. If they don't care about the brand then sell it. I am sure Hamer would do better as a small custom shop if they were independent. If worse come to worse give the damn brand back to Jol and he can build them himself, at least he is marketing his new brand while Hamer does nothing except for the blog, (as far as I can see from here in Europe). 18. In the first pic it looks more like a 4-digit shaped headstock. But who ever took the shot messed up the focus pretty badly.
  19. Had to pull out the T62 and play it some tonight. Height: Neck; bass side; approx 1,5 mm above the pick guard. Treble side approx 2,6 mm Middle: bass side; approx 2,5 mm above the pick guard. Treble side approx 4 mm Bridge: bass side; approx 5 mm above the pick guard. Treble side approx 4,2 mm
  20. I have the Duncan Antiquity hot Texas in the bridge of my T62. Got it pretty straight aligned to the strings (not tilted treble side towards strings) and pretty close to the strings. It sounds awesome. I have the Duncan Surfer Antiquites in the middle and neck position. This is a great strat set. Oomph in the bridge, and bell like strat tones in the middle and neck. I am a happy camper with these pups, (thanks to Elduave for setting me up with the Surfers!) edit: I set the neck pretty far from the strings treble side tilted towards the strings and bass side way down towards the pick guard, same with the middle pup (a tad closer to the stringa than the neck), also with the treble side tilted towards the strings and bass side screwed way down. As ususal with new pups it takes me a few weeks of tweaking to get it 100% right. I try them in various lengths from the strings, and various amount of tilt, until I get it just the way I want it. Use your ears to decide what works best for you.
  21. I bought a set of Wolfetone P90s from an english guy, livin in Germany, recently. He had a Hamer Goldtop P90 for sale, dot version from the early 90's. Looked like it was in great condition. Shoot me a pm if you want his contact info. I'm pretty sure he did not sell it yet.
  22. The SLASH Sunburst/Studio? Who's got pics? AND the purple Prince Studio with Floyd & EMG's.
  23. Yes, (thank you, I'm blushing now). I got it. A damn fine guitar in every way possible. And then again, I've been thinking it might just need a Kahler to be 100% right,
  24. Swap shield and wire then. That is not a good way to do it. I am not even sure it would work. You'll need at least three wires like on the old Dimarzio. Just flip the magnet in one of the pups, it's an easy way to do it. And you don't have to solder.
