  1. navigator check yer PM. price is $320 w/o pickups or case, + shipping from 27358. stokes/data, i'll PM ya later if still available.
  2. ***TRADE PENDING w/ EL NATORO 10-16-06 considering sanding the medium neck down on this special (w/ headstock repair) unless someone will give me what i have in it (~$450 w/ phatcats & SBK hsc). it's a player w/ some dings & chips, & great rawk tones! will consider less if i can keep the neck phatcat &/or case. or trade for thin neck guitars, whacha got?
  3. not familiar w/ most of his stuff, but i got a copy of his PROSTHETIC CUBANS cd from stike, it is a great cd. as for underapriciated players, i think more folks should bow in reverence to; charlie hunter tommy emanuel jimmy herring
  4. happy b-day. maybe you can talk 'em down a few years? haha
  5. +1. she's never said boo about me buying gear, but i typically don't spend more than $500, & have never spent more than $1100. plus, she can't say anything when she has 6 horses and 2 trailers. maybe thats the key! get your wife an expensive hobby!
  6. ok, cordroad has usurped travis as the funniest new HFC sicko. ps- that guitar is BADASS

  8. seek out holdsworth's sideman stuff from the 70's; bruford, jean luc ponty, and esp tony williams lifetime. I have some of that stuff, but probably not enough. My favorite album of his so far is Secrets i'll check that out. rockola emailed me a tune from "metal fatigue" (w/ yngwie keyboardist & drummer the johansen brothers) that was really killer.
  9. Tell me about it! I downloaded that album a few weeks ago and that was my exact reaction Ah well. seek out holdsworth's sideman stuff from the 70's; bruford, jean luc ponty, and esp tony williams lifetime.
  10. wolfmother : retro 70's hard rawk, good but not great. allan holdsworth - 16 men of tain : dunno why i bought this, i learned long ago that i love his solos but hate his tunes. nothings changed. chilli peppers - stadium arcadium : again, good but not great. aerosmith - live bootleg : haven't heard this since my brothers vinyl copy in the early 80's. lotsa vibe, good but not great. the sword : shitty stoner metal from austin tx (w/ a good PR agent; everything i read about them made them sound like the 2nd coming of sabbath). counting the days until the new scofield/mmw comes out!
  11. since we're talking prog, anybody ever listen to Bruford? the stuff w/ holdsworth is pretty cool. seems to straddle the fence between prog & fusion, which is kinda hard to define for me.
  12. hell yeah! i love ozric's "jurrasic shift" (bought a few more discs after that didn't do it for me). i wore out kraftwork's "computer world" tape during my brief punk/new wave phase in jr high. i want to like DT, they're great players, but they make rush sound soulful . as stike would say, their sound has "no ass init". Brooks, since you like OT and Kraftwerk, while I'm making my stuff for Chris and Dan, It's no problem for me to make a 3rd copy for you. I'll have it done today. You may dig it. cool, what is it? i'll PM my address.

  14. guyatone OD2. very transparent, so much so that it won a guitar player mag editors pick. obviously, i'm impressed w/ a lot of guyatones stuff.
  15. kewl!!! horns up for dime!!
  16. oh oh, if chris gets picked up w/o his tags he could wind up in the pound!
  17. BOBBY HAS GONE ABOVE & BEYOND REGULAR HFC BROTHERHOOD FOR ME, AND I SALUTE HIM!!! HAPPY B-DAY!!!
  18. +1. i did feel nervous the 1 gig i did w/ a minty newport (on the left, now resides w/ mr fuzzy); that thing was brand new looking, and really gave me the vibe of an expensive piece of art. same w/ bobbymacks artist custom (middle of photo), beautiful. ps- this normal guitar geek thread has developed nicely w/ some funny shit. i love you guys!
  19. nice! welcome NeuroLight .
  20. sorry i missed that! prolly made him feel like he was back in metallica, ha.
