I bought a used but never installed Gravelin Strat pickup on the forum that’s supposedly in the ballpark of a Lollar Special. It’s fantastic in the bridge spot of my Strat. Balls but still Stratty.

The hot Duncan isn’t so bad. In fact, it’s great in some guitars. My SG classic need a little more and I replaced the stock Gibsons with p90s that had been pulled from a Hamer. Much better in that guitar. Brian Baker uses that Custom p90 in his ‘50s Juniors. If it’s good enough for Brian Fucking Baker, it’s good enough for me.

Been listening to a bunch of Lagwagon and Bad Astronaut. Joey Cape is amazing.

Just picked up the latest Lagwagon disc, Hang. Really digging it. Had never heard of these guys until recently. Fantastic band. I'm also listening to the Teenage Time Killers CD. A very different flavor of punk, but also great. I love anything the COC guys touch.

A friend turned me on to an album by the band, Bad Astronaut: "Houston We Have a Drinking Problem." It's really an excellent album. Hard to classify. Killer melodic alt rock that gets better with each listen.

Winner! That bass is absolutely perfect. As for six strings, I've always been partial to the Chris Matthes Caddy green M3. A beautiful guitar.

Been listening to the new Supersuckers. I'm digging it. Definitely a crunchier, more old school 'Suckers sound than their prior CD.

Finally digging into Sabbath (I'm only 40 years late to the party). Been spinning the debut, Mob Rules and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Those guys were pretty good.
