  1. More positive vibes headed your way from MN.
  2. Stop it. Now I wanna be YOUR dog! You RULED at the last elduave DC jam, my friend! I'm eying this thread with interest, but I can't commit, because, um, well, shit, I've got a job which limits my time. There, I said it. Don't forget to play "I Hate My Job," regardless of whether I attend. Damn, damn damn....I want to Gooooooo to Indiana again!
  3. I bought my cruisebass from him around 2000. I believe he posted on the old board a few times, and I had his website bookmarked. At that time, he lived in Madison, and I stopped by his place on one of my roadtrips to IL. He was running an online guitar shop out of his house, and always had some interesting and cool stuff on his website. I got the cruisebass for less than $400, and he was willing to wait for me to drive by so we wouldn't have to ship. That guitar gets played more than any other guitar I own.
  4. "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town" as recorded by Kenny Rogers "Angie Baby" - Helen Reddy (careful, don't get this one stuck in your head!)
  5. Every now and then at FV practice, we'll go on a John Denver bender and try to play a few of his songs. Never quite pull it off, but it's definitely fun to try late at night. Dave Berg can get close to his vocal range.
  6. Great stuff, Gene! Looks like a blast.
  7. Cool George! Good to see you playing out. Wish I could see you. Say hi to Carmie!
  8. From last September at the Fine Line. I think that I was probably watching my hand, not closing my eyes.
  9. I sorely needed a pink guitar, and imagine my delight when I spied this guitar on my local craigslist. I emailed immediately on a Saturday, and quickly needed to come up with $400 cash. My bank was already closed, so I called up good buddy and FV guitarist Dave Berg. He came to my rescue with $300 cash, and I drove out to get this guitar. Turns out the guy had just gotten laid off from the same company I got laid off from a few years back, and he also knew a good friend of mine. We had undoubtedly been at the same parties once or twice, even though we didn't remember meeting. Here's Madame Pamita modeling this cruisebass at the 4-3-2-1 Club in May. And here's George and I jamming at the same party. I'm trying to remember if this newport showed up this year or last, but it's also become one of my fave's this year. Good stuff!
  10. Famous Volcanoes at Club Underground, Nov. 14, 2007: We got to play on the same bill as Madame Pamita that evening: And here's a couple of Famous Volcanoes at the Fine Line in late Sept, 2007:
  11. Bump... Tonight's the night. If you've got nothing to do on a slow winter's night, come on out to Pi Bar and check out the Play Prettys and Famous Volcanoes. You know I'd like to see YOU there!
  12. Damn! Wish I didn't have band practice on Thursday...I'd love to see this show.
  13. Famous Volcanoes, along with my other band The Play Prettys will be performing at Pi Bar on Sunday, Dec. 9. Pi is the local lesbian bar, and the only gay bar in town that regularly supports live bands. All you locals, bring your favorite lesbian(s) and come on out for a good time! I'm hoping to see lots of friendly faces in the crowd. For those that attended the Golden Jam, my 50th birthday party a year ago, Pi Bar is right across the street from the Minneapolis Eagles Club where that party was held. Doors at 8:00, music at 8:30.
  14. Hope you have a good one, Chris!
  15. No, that's my brother, Scott. We look exactly alike, huh? He posts here occasionally as ScottM, and shows up at most of the 4-3-2-1 get-togethers.
  16. I forgot I had this mugshot taken last weekend:
  17. All the best, Greg.
  18. August 2006, recovering from an MCChris, REEshard weekend. KSFM indeed! Unleashing some vitriol in the bowels of the 4-3-2-1 Club.
  19. Hey Conrad! You beat me too it... HBD Bernard...hope you have a great one! Here's to the wild Europeans!! Bernard ROCKS, as you can see.
  20. I'm going to have to agree with you there! Yea...what they said! I'm with the pussy crowd. No wait... I'm confused now.
  21. I think that's become the whole point of this thread. The One That Got Away.
  22. That settles it...I'm headed to the tattoo parlor to have "Minneapolis" barb-wired around my bicep! And to answer your question, not always, but if the shoe fits... Cool pic, btw...I've gotta get down to one of your shows soon.
  23. You know, knowing that guitar is in your capable hands is comforting to me, Eric. Except for today, when I'd like to dress in black and play it during band practice!!! Besides, I can't do that guitar justice with my playing style. You can. I did the right thing by selling it to you. I do miss it, but it's good to have visitation rights! See? It's a PERFECT Halloween guitar... And as for you, mister... This guitar is obviously in the right hands. Has amberburst ever looked cooler, or more festive (read: gayer) than the picture below? (no need to answer that) I need a tattoo or two.
  24. 0 17-something or other...purchased new in the early 80's. I've still got it, but haven't played it in a loooong time. I'll get it out for the next 4-3-2-1 jam.
  25. Yes, I like a nice amberburst, too. Sorry, Jaye, but this guitar is too nice to part with, and you know you had your chances a few years back!
