  1. Mine too. At the risk of being The Ultimate Fanboi, I've wanted to do this for at least 10 years but I couldn't bring myself to "butcher" a perfectly good Paul (and even though a Norlin era LP would be "more correct", they had gotten pricey and we all know about the hit-or-miss quality of them). The PT-LP reissues that Gibson put out a few years ago are outrageously expensive, and they for some reason have a 10th crown inlay at the 1st fret, which to me is visually distracting. When I saw this one on ebay, the wheels started turning again, and who better than a former Gibson Custom Shop craftsman to handle the conversion?
  2. Man! Stuff gets done rather expediently in your shop! Great work!
  3. Alright. Someone call the Police. JohnnyB must be bound and gagged somewhere.
  4. Monaco Elite FTW!
  5. heh heh... So do I... Something else.
  6. That is what I am talking about! Yo.
  7. That fretboard looks AMAZING!
  8. As are you, Frankie. Loving #36!
  9. Be my guest, Mr. Martin. No shortage of ready quips here.
  10. The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated. I've never left you. Much like a whisper on a breeze or the smell of burnt toast. But more like the burnt toast thing.
  11. There are two, actually. If you click on the time under the name of the last user who posted on a thread (in the case of this thread, it said "Today, 08:30 AM" under your name when I visited), it will bring you to the last post in a given thread. If you click on the"bullet point" to the left of a thread, it will bring you to the last unread post. ETA: Great work, Ted!
  12. Ok, so it's against ebaY policy. So-fucking-what? They get their money either way. They and the seller can go scratch. The guitar has dot, not crowns, and sell used in the $1000 range every time they come up for sale. It's not often, but we all know of a few that have made the rounds here several times. What the guitar listed for is about as relevant as the number of "questions to answer about it from eBay members." I can't speak for anyone else, but the problem I have with the seller is that he's a tool. And that's enough for me.
  13. All valid points, but do not change the fact that the seller is making up shit.
  14. I wouldn't liken this to attempting to demonstrate an amp over the phone. At least you were trying to sell it! He didn't say he couldn't move it locally. He made up some nonsense about how he "couldn't have it for sale on both" (sites) and how it "wouldn't be fair to the other 600 people who have viewed it online." Both are false. He can have it for sale in a million places and on ebaY at the same time. The catch is, if he ends the auction early (as in a local out of ebaY sale), he still has to pay the listing fees. That's one of the million ways that ebaY protects itself. They ALWAYS get their money. You have to always hope to get yours. Cue the Muse: "EbaY sucks." The whole issue here is that the guy is not being truthful to the prospective buyers and he's not being helpful to his own cause.
  15. What a sorry collection of horseshit and misinformation. Translation: "Don't bother me. Just buy my guitar, ebaY douche." There is no such rule or policy about inspection before the end of the auction. Take off the skirt. As "collectible" as any other guitar around $1000. No, they're not. No, it isn't. See #1.
  16. Bingo, and give that man a cigar. The rest of the bullshit surrounding the T-bolt subject is...well...bullshit.
  17. A Mirage with Telecaster pickups, upside-down Standard headstock and a Bigsby.
  18. Unforgiveable. They had to go out of their way to do that kind of damage. Sad but true. A UPS rep (at the UPS Store) once told me "'Fragile' means "Kick here' to a lot of these guys." Nice.
  19. Dude, you've been doing this long enough to know that you don't want to know.
