Easter weekend Hamer pic thread

Who has one of those Steve Stevens models with the yellow/pink/orange zig zag finish? Those look like Easter eggs. -
The original band was great at the time. My Skynyrd collection started in 1977 or 1978 when I was in seventh grade, and those cassettes were played all through high school. Seeing present day Lynyrd Skynyrd ain't the same. During a concert there are doubts about it really being a Lynyrd Skynyrd show. Seeing the Artimus Pyle Band late last year gave me a similar feeling, but there were Artimus and Barry Lee Harwood on stage, two people with a genuine connection to the original band.

For years I joked that there were a million guys who could play just like Eddie Van Halen, but they could not play anything new until Van Halen put out another album.

Oh, what an insult!!!

So the new Rush drummer can play John Rutsey's part. OK.

I saw Joscho Stephan last year. He has a show in Charlotte tonight, but I already paid for a BulletBoys / Once Bitten concert ticket, so that is where I ended up. It would be nice to see Joscho again.

No Summer Breeze, Dash Crofts dead at 87.
Steve Haynie replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
At a Zombies concert in Atlanta Rod Argent went on a short rant about KISS changing the lyrics to God Gave Rock and Roll to You, renaming it God Gave Rock and Roll to You II. Petra also did a version with different lyrics, but they did not have a hit on the radio or MTV. Rod should have been happy that the song was making money. It certainly would bring some interest to the original version. Russ Ballard wrote the song, and he could have blocked the song being altered. KISS made him money when Ace Frehley covered New York Groove. -

Are there that many van Gogh fans today? Prices for his paintings are still high. The art world has been trained to believe that some objects are worth more than others. The guitar collectors of the future will need to have something of the same way of thinking to uphold the values paid in this recent auction. Irsay's rock star owned guitars will always be promoted as iconic. They have to in order to justify the price. Are there people buying Bing Crosby or Ella Fitzgerald music today? Yes. They just do not have the appeal, and sales, they once did. They were incredibly important in their day, so they will always be heralded as "icons." How many people are collecting Crosby and Fitzgerald memorabilia? The Hollywood collectors are still paying six figure amounts for dresses worn by famous actresses like Audrey Hepburn even though fewer and fewer people recognize her. Just enough people with money still do. Gilmour's Strat might as well be a non-fungible token now. There will always be someone viewing Pink Floyd on a legendary level.
