For all the complaining, if you try a Scarab bass you will dig it. They are light and comfortable to play.

Thought to self... If these guys keep bashing the Scarab it could make prices go down... We can always point to this thread to prove our point... What do I really want? Hmmm... Gosh, guys, you know those Impact basses are ugly as hell. No one should ever want to be seen playing one of those.

Floyds never last in my collection, but the one Steve Stevens I tried could have ended up a keeper. Pepto would be nice to snag.

It is cool to see Paul Stanley interacting with fans. Of all the KISS members he has kept his private llife very private until recent years. Seeing Paul getting along with people like he is not a rock star is cool. Yes, it is an expensive price of admission, but getting to jam with Paul Stanley or any of the other RnR Fantasy Camp "counselors" has to give people a great feeling.

Definitely play with a pick if the octave strings are on top. You can also switch between a pick and your fingers to vary the tone from one song to the next. That approach works well on an 8 string.

If the bass is the one I think it is, django got a killer deal! Do what Jack C says and you will have monster tone. Fresh octave strings help a lot, too. alpep often has Hamer-branded 12 string sets for sale, but you can also order singles from GHS at a local store and add them to a regular set of bass strings.
