  1. Remind me tomorrow morning to buy your CD.
  2. Do we still have to have a black out on certain aspects of Hamer history because "it's in the book" or can we get answers to our questions since we are all going to buy the book anyway?
  3. Oh, Mr. Moxie, please tell us how you got that photo. The word is that Billy Gibbons only signs one autograph or poses for one photo, but will not do both. How did you get that photo with him?
  4. Remember to give out a huge shrieking whistle while you are at the nursing home just to test a theory.
  5. The most I ever paid for a guitar was $2600 for a Gibson L-7C. My second most expensive instrument purchase was my 8 String Chaparral Bass for $2000, a very nice discounted price on a custom order. The L-7C is gone and the Chaparral value is a moot point since it is not for sale. My korina Vector may be holding its value. My Sunburst has been where guitar money went in the last year. The guitar was bought reasonably. Some repairs added to what I have in it, but in my mind those are nothing more than the cost of use and wear. Thoughts of stainless steel frets one day are not connected to thoughts on the value of the guitar. This one will not be for sale any time soon.
  6. Is this poll about how much we paid or how much we could get? Most of my guitars are Hamers, so the resale might not be so good.
  7. Got in halfway through today's show.
  8. We have the good fortune of Hamer guitars being consistent, so waiting it out is an option.
  9. Hoffman's signature model Framus looks like his white Hamer Vector.
  10. There were many Studios made. One will come your way one day.
  11. The friend who got my Les Paul signed for me (with a marker) said he saw Les signing guitars with "an engraving tool" the night he went to Fat Tuesday's for me.
  12. One dream has been to build a simple star body guitar much like an original Charvel Star. Going through the Warmoth web site the price for a complete guitar gets within a couple hundred of a used Wayne Charvel original. The thrill of assembling "my guitar" starts to balance with the "what will it bring used" price if the guitar turns out to be less than imagined. A wenge necked bass is another instrument that would be nice to try out. If a Fender Precision ever lands in my hands it would be worth buying a wenge neck to switch with the factory neck.
  13. I actually need more than one guitar because each guitar invigorates the different creative centers within my psyche. My intention to have at least a dozen instruments at all times is not driven by greed, but rather my beneficent efforts to enlighten the world with the aural pleasures that come from the dulcet melodies of Alice Cooper.
  14. King Crimson's Discipline album never hit me. It had Robert Fripp and Adrian Belew, but for all the praise they got in Guitar Player magazine that album was not my thing.
  15. Yeah. It is not the gadget. It is all in how you use it.
  16. There was an article or an eBay listing for one of those a long time ago. It seems like there was one that had leaked.
  17. You were kidding. I was serious. The bottom line is that kid has not convinced me to buy an album-- yet.
  18. Yeah. It appears that everything was well practiced, but there was no real personal character coming through. Sure, he is nine, but then he is being compared to other players who can play those licks.
  19. Aztec Gold always looked good to me.
  20. The electronic drums did not immediately sound electronic.
  21. It sounds a little sterile to me. The bass sounds a little lifeless in its tone, not the playing. The guitars sound good, but something is missing.
  22. That one better turn out to be a great player when hardware is added. If it really turns out good, then someone can get it refinished. Before having a couple of instruments refinished there was a need to know if they were worth keeping. One was done in the mid 90's and it is still with me. The other was done last year and will be mine for a long time.
