@RobB Didn't sound "ham-fisted" at all, to me. Actually, the clarity of the notes and chords sounded pretty dang precise.

That's exactly what I was thinking! There a couple of quick frames where I thought to myself, "did they put Zakk up there too?". π It was good to see Glenn involved, but he's looking pretty frail.

No, but I get why he did it. Or at least what he was trying to accomplish. -

Yeah, it doesn't make much sense. Kind of like a buddy that had a hot rodded 1959 panhead... He then went super crazy on the motor, 103" (which is HUGE on a pan), and started talking frame mods. I tried to get him to sell me the frame and buy an aftermarket, but he was bent on using the original frame. One mod led to another, and a year later the only thing left of the original was the seat post tube with the rear motor mount. All I could do was to shake my head. Tsk tsk. -
Happy birthday Rechts!

Guilty! π The early times *were* great! This news saddens me greatly. "Deserved" or not, I hated it when he was put on exile. I always looked forward to Jay's posts, sometimes they would be the highlight of my day... If he happened to like or quote one of my posts, I felt like I had accomplished something. π Is anyone in contact with Turdus? He's probably aware, he and Ed (Jay) I think were/are pretty tight. Ed/Jay, if you see this, Godspeed brother. Just know that you were the source of MANY laughs and screen-cleanings! Prayers are with you.

To me, exceptions @django49 excluded, korina tends to have a bit more in the upper mids. My most resonant guitars are korina. And, I like the way that it looks. -

If I could only own guitars made of one type of wood, that wood would definitely and unequivocally be Korina. -

It'll be great. Go ahead and buy a new truck and guitar collection. ETA: This won't be funny without the context... Years ago during an employee mtg, the Q&A comes up. This was during a fairly bleak period of business, but with the announcement of some good prospects. A guy asks the plant mgr "So can I go buy a new truck?". The boss says "yeah, go buy yourself that new truck!". Four months later they announced layoffs. π -

@Crywolf I'd love to see a pic of that korina Eclipse! I've got one as well (only one I've seen). I asked Kim Keller about it quite a while back, and he said it was part of a run that Bill Kaman had instigated... He said he thought there were only 10 or 12 made. Mine got hacked by a previous owner who thought it would be better with a P90 in the neck. At least they did a clean route job, but it can never be original again.- 60 replies

A small UPS would supply some really clean power, and not that expensive. Plus, if you happened to be opening for Aerosmith, you wouldn't have to be concerned that Steven would slip in and unplug your rig. π

What I've found over the years, is that there are no bad USA Hamers (some are better than others) and are the only brand I have no qualms with buying sight-unseen. Congrats!

I'm one that likes to embrace the Hameritis. Kinda like the big ole doggo with all of his endearing grunts, growls, and slurps. π
