Nice. I would have much prefered that color to the straw that mine is, but I fell in love with the Big 56V neck. Suhr does Teles right.
-
Gonna catch them at Memphis in May this weekend.

Ok, I'll play. Y2k Murphy R9 04 R4

I have one of his Tele's and its gotta be one of the best I've ever played. His big 56 V neck is my all time favorite, and much I prefer his pickups over Andersons.

Bob does incredible work. It blows me away that some people can't see the artistry in products (I know most if not all here is tough and cheek), but I know people that get real uptight about this kind of thing. If everthing were mearly built for a utility purpose, we'd have no Artist customs, Ferraris, Thorns, etc.... How dull life would be.

Crap, already told the wife I'd do a maint weekend at the store from 9pm - 3am. What was I thinking. -
Thats the coolest Hamer I've seen in quite a while. I'm glad I didn't see it in a store or I'd be comming up with some sort of interesting "story" to salvage marital harmony.

? about overdrive/distortion

I would drag your amp around and audtiion the pedals with your amp. EL84 amps (to me) seem to be particualarly picky about ODs. I have a couple that are very picky and only work well with certain pedals. My favorite mid range od is the Lovepedal Eternity, spendy, and a long wait is required, but prices seem to have stabilized somewhat on the used market. I've got an OCD, but I've never been able to bond with it. -
I've owned a couple Andersons. A drop top classic and a Cobra. Finnished to the highest standards. Tom's fretwork is second to none. Alot of people say that Andersons are steril sounding. I think his Cobra is his best effort, a very nice focused LP type sound. THey do have their own sound. If you are looking for a Strat / Tele tone with better build quality I'd say (and have with my own money) get a Suhr. However Tom builds some amazing guitars, just don't expect them to sound like vintage Teles / Strats.

some Marshall jcm 800s are cheap?
JES1680 replied to Jimbilly's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I had a 4210 a few years ago. Nice amp, sounds a bit boxy as others have stated. If its all in working order then $399.00 would be a decent price. They are really good sounding amps with the right cabs. And yep, ya ain't gonna find an 800 head anywhere near that price. -
Does my wife hate my guitar playing?
JES1680 replied to MTM105's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
My wife doesn't complement my playing anymore. She used to before we were married. You know in that early dating stage she would sit and listen to me play, even ask me to play for her. Maybe I've just not done anything new in the last 11 years worht complementing. Of course she also used to ride around on the fender of my Harley (single seat only) and now I can't get her near my realitively comfy Triumph. -
I had a red Series 10 in the 80's. Red super strat plywood guitar. Fretboard was red. JUUUUUNK! But hey a girlfirend bought it for me and my G&L was too ugly to play in a metal band.

This is supposed to help hurricane victims?

Ok here's my deal. If you're going to give to a relief fund as a corporation then do it. Hell, issue a press release if you want (tacky but done all the time). But every time Gibson (or other companies) do something like this it just smacks of self promotion. This is marketing pure and simple. -

Examples of Crappy Distorted Guitar Tone
JES1680 replied to killertone's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Ok this should prove unpopular. I love his playing and solo tones, but never cared for Randy Rhodes' rhythm tones. Too fizzy for my taste. -
I'm in for at least 2.
-
Not mine, but those pickups looks suspiciously like the ones that G&L put in their F100 series back in the 80's.
-
WOW, there are some guitars I look at and know right away that I'm not worthy to own. I can't figure out what to do with 22 frets. I imagine I'd just sit there and drool on 27!

I picked up a Bad Monkey last weekend. I really like it. It won't replace any of my other pedals, but it sure has it's place especially with the Top Hat CR. I've been curious to try the Hothead and BS. Maybe this week. Oh my Monkey is from China so it not have mojo it have it have dojo. Either that or maybe the mojo leaked out during shipping?
