  1. I like "Fire Down Under", but think the first 2 (Narita, Rock City) are a bit better. I was doing radio when FDU came out, and played it quite a bit. I got a "Thank You" postcard from Elektra records. I have no idea how they knew I was plying it. There was also a TV show around the time, called "Rock World" for which they did the theme song. Good tune, never released that I am aware of.
  2. Yes. It's like if you find someone's wallet with $1000.00 in it. It's not yours-it belongs to the person who owns the wallet. "Legally". Thanks Steve.... I always wondered about that. Several years back, I sent an LP to a guy. He never got it, but UPS showed it as delivered. During the loss investigation, the UPS driver went to house of intended delivery, and claimed that was not where he left it. He could not remember which house he left it at. So somebody got a free LP. Does this mean they committed a felony by not reporting they got it in error?
  3. Here's what I want to know... is the other guy legally obligated to return the guitar? Morally, sure... legally ?
  4. Had the first Cavedogs CD, back when it was released. Pretty good. The Brandos are a band with some good songs, yet little success. Probably because they are good musicians, and might not appeal to the younger record buying public.
  5. 4 way tie: AC/DC, Judas Priest, UFO, and Rush. Georgetown University had a great radio station that played all these bands in the late 70's. I lost interest once these bands hit the mainstream. But I have replaced the vinyl with CDs, and still listen to them today.
  6. Ha! I just saw this thread........ I think I recognize the shirt.... Oh wait.... my name is Chris, lol!
  7. Happy B'day Ted!
  8. Geddy's Rickenbacker on "All the World's A Stage". I knew that I had to become a bass player, and get me a Ric.
  9. AC/DC (with Bon) opening for UFO (without Schenker) - 1979. If MS had been there, I think it would have been the show of a lifetime.
  10. Was he really live? I could not tell. It almost seemed to me like the first song he may not have been, then he was.
  11. For me it is Rush's "All The Worlds A Stage", side 1. After hearing it, I immediately had to become a bass player, and get a Ric.
  12. Ironic timing on this post, lol. I have a guitar on Ebay. A guy just emailed me, telling me that if I lower my BIN by $100, he'll buy it. He states that the imperfections I list in the auction, while no big deal to him, lower the value of the guitar.
  13. REO Speedwagon. Their live album. circa '77, is really good. I've not really dug any of their studio efforts.
  14. I must be the only lucky one here, as far as GC is concerned. I am sure that all the DC are guys remember Venneman's. The guy who manages GC in Fairfax used to work there, and is the right guy to know. Don't deal with the staff. Get to know the manager. I've had them order me a couple guitars. No issues.
  15. I bought a new Fender Strat 12 from Musc123. The guitar came in the original Fender packaging, which consisted of: * no case, or gig bag. Guitar was wrapped in a very thin sheet of foam * one thin triangular shaped box to keep the guitar from shifting * the triangular box was placed in a rectangular box, which had a top and bottom holder to keep the triangular box from moving too much. This was a Japanese Fender, so it made all the way from there, in this packaging, without a scratch. Granted, for the overseas trip they probably put 5 of these in a bigger box, etc. I would also agree that if I reused this packaging, for this guitar, it may not arrive in one piece. And doubtful the carrier would pay a claim.
  16. The Joneses was a great album,Most would have thought it was a new bad company album when they heard it. Get the New Willie Alexander and the Boom Boom Band CD....Billy Loosigian Rocks on it and sure you will love it......Johnny What happened to the singer from that band? Yes... very Paul Rogers like. The Joneses sounded like the ultimate bar band to me. That is not meant with any disrespect at all. I would have liked to have seen them.
  17. I've got The Joneses CD from 15 years ago. What else has Billy Loosigian done? Never heard anything else by him, that I am aware of.
  18. The only time condition matters is when you go to sell something. I used to baby my guitars, but in the last 5 years, have not cared that much. I have a custom shop Tele that is quickly becomming a relic. I know it is the one guitar I will never sell, so I am breaking it in nicely. I have a few guitars that have just made it past one year of ownership. That must mean I am going to keep them. Time to beat 'em up I guess.
  19. My sense of fashion has greatly improved. This one is about 6 years old now.
  20. For me, it is getting fat, followed by getting creaky. I've put on a whopping 30 big ones in just 5 years. I wake up every morning, and creak and snap for about 5 minutes, as the tendons align, lol.
  21. Rechts -- If you did not check in on this thread, I was afraid I may have to post this, LOL!
  22. The original "Axis Of Worthlessness" was myself, Rechts, and Tonejunkee. Therefore, Rechts got my vote. He really is like a cartoon character, and I am fortunate to live within 10 minutes of his old house.
  23. Right here dude... a lot of us have a sense of humor. Relax a bit, and join the party....
  24. I had a Roland Jazz Chorus, and once turned up past 2 or so, it started to distort in a pleasing kind of way.... A lot of guys here know who Tommy Keene is. I am not sure if he still uses them, but I am pretty sure he used JC120's for awhile. Tommy has always had a good rock tone.
  25. Have a good one Dave!
