Cathode biased amps- no biasing?
edgar_allan_poe replied to salem's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
My EL34 Fargen Bordeaux is cathode biased and I can run just about any tube that fits the socket. Something like an EL84 needs an adapter...like the THD Yellow Jacket. It does have a little less power, but it isn't something drastic. It also makes using vintage tubes *much* cheaper. I don't have to buy matching sets and singles are normally much cheaper. -
Send a soundclip to blackmagic, this is probably the tone he has been looking for all of his life.

Dude..I luv ya...but that is nonsense. I haven't heard a single person say that they believe in any type of censorship. Something like that would never fly in this country, and everyone knows it. What has happened is that a couple of bands have decided to speak out politically and the other side has organized a response, sometimes its a boycott. When the Dixie Chicks decided to wax eloquently, the response was immediate and severe. Nobody was claiming they didn't have the right to say what they said, but the right wasn't going to sit around and not respond. They have an absolute right to speak their minds, and the protesters have the same damn right to respond. When that happened , fans of the Dixie Chicks and the left in general cried foul and claimed they were being censored. Nonsense...the right was expressing their displeasure and had every right to do so. Freedom of speech works both ways and both sides don't seem to understand that simple concept. -

True..but that is what those guys do for a living. If I tune into a Rush or Franken show, I know what I am getting into. I think what irritates people is when they buy an album from a particular artist expecting one thing, and get a political speech instead. I felt the exact same way a few years ago when I went to see Santana. It got to the point where I wanted to yell "SHUT THE F UP AND PLAY SOME MUSIC FOR CHRISTS SAKE!!" Musicians absolutely have the right to express themselves in any way they see fit. But, what pisses me off, is this... If they do express themselves, and wind up pissing someone off, they can't turn around and expect their fans to not show their displeasure. Some of these guys believe that they have the right to say whatever they want, and it shouldn't have any negative effects on their career. Think again... -
One of the best I have seen was at a Grumpy Old Men show. Drunk dude get up on the stage and starts to play a DRUM SOLO!! Now...that is funny all by itself. However, when you take into account that it was during the acoustic part of the show...well...that just makes it insanely funny. HAHAHAHHA

Every night bro...There is always some idiot who wants to sing or play guitar for a song. Thank *god* that our leader will have none of it. He has no problem playing the bad guy, and people normally leave him alone. He has a birth defect that left him with half his left arm and half his right leg...that pretty much takes care of all the testosterone that can be involved with this situation. They mistakenly feel sorry for him and assume that a fight would just make them look horrible silly. What they don't realize is that Jaye is a bad mo-fo and can actually fight his ass off!! LOL!!! I watched him shove his nub into a guys chest years ago when we were teenagers...the poor bastard never knew what hit him and he went down in a heap gasping for breath. HAHAHHAHAHAHAHA

Are you a pickup swapper?
edgar_allan_poe replied to jwhitcomb3's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Reformed... I used to be a major pup swapper...not anymore. Since I switched to Nik Huber guitars, I have been using the Hauessell pickups and wouldn't even *consider* swapping them. -

What they aren't telling you is this... TA practices the very dangerous art of car jumping. He started this a couple of years ago to relieve the stress of the HFC wars. -
What's the record for longest USPS MO delivery?
edgar_allan_poe replied to El_Natoro's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
USPS will not provide tracking for overseas deliveries. I have asked on several occasions and been told "no" every time. -
Lesser know band that you love

Donnie can scream with the best of them. I used to own the Gibson V that was used on a few of Donnies albums. His guitar player was *very* underrated. I also went to College with Donnies daughter Erin. Edited to add that a lot of people don't realize that Donnie was the singer for the Jaggers(50s-60s?)...thats him singing "The Rapper" Rap....oh rap rap rap...they call him the rapper. Rap rap rap..you know what he's after. LOL!!! -

Michael Stanley Band, & Donnie Iris MSB is from Cleveland I believe...cool tunes. Donnie is a local Pittsburgh guy who had some national success in the 70s and 80s. He still performs in Pittsburgh and still kicks ass. -

Monaco III with a blended heel
edgar_allan_poe replied to Caddie's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I will reiterate... That blended heal makes *no* sense to me. Look at the carve...exactly how will that improve upper fret access? The *shelf* is the problem...*not* the heel. Christ...they even carved out the lower horn...how many times is your hand resting *there*...ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!! -
Either way you go....spend the extra dough and get the F-holes bound. It looks *fantastic*.
