Not that it negates your argument, but fixed price sales on eBay are cheaper and they get a break for being a "store", so it would only run $84 plus paypal. A 10% brokerage fee would be very reasonable if eBay looked out for the seller, but from all the latest stories it seems that's not the case.

Passing the cost of advertising on to the consumer isn't new.

I agree, that is a pretty heavy beer with a "stronger than I like" malt taste. But don't shy away from others on the list...several articles have determined San Diego is the best beer city in the country, though most (myself included) would only say we're in the top five.

There are great local beers in San Diego. Some of the better ones aren't bottled but there are still plenty that are. Stone, Ballast Point, Green Flash, Karl Strauss, Manzanita, Alesmith, The Lost Abbey, and Alpine are all fairly easy to find (even in grocery stores) and represent a pretty wide variety of what's available here. Most have excellent IPA's and DIPA's, but there's plenty of other styles mixed in. As you make your way up the coast, Firestone Walker (also available in the San Diego area) makes some good beer out of the Paso Robles area. When you get to the San Francisco area, one of my favorite breweries there is Drake's in San Leandro. They have bottles available most anywhere out here, but their limited releases are some of the best beer made. Of course if you get North of San Francisco and into wine country, there's Lagunitas (I'm personally not a fan), Bear Republic, and Russian River (makers of Pliny the Elder, which should be on everyone's list of beers to try).

Huge kudos to that Ronny Scheithauer guy! He's run with the vision of a couple of members here and flat out killed it each time! The guitar is stunning Ionel. A perfect marriage of favourite guitar and player. Something to treasure for sure! Scheithauer Mayday Standard anyone?

Like who, aside from endorsers and hobbyists? No one I'm aware of. My point being if their newer pickups are "fantastic", why aren't they being sought out for retrofit into other guitars.

This news just in from 2003, apparently. You should check out the more recent PRS pickups - the 57/08, 59/09, DGT, and 53/10 pickups are all standard sized and sound great...and the 408 pickups (which are proprietary in size and shape) are fantastic. IMO, YMMV, etc. The (lack of) quality/desirability of their pickups (regardless of year/model) is reflected in the number of people using them in non-PRS guitars.
