  1. The biggest difference is one is sold, the other is not The Mira is crazy light at just under 6lbs, 24.5" scale, jumbo frets, and the neck has less shoulder, I'd call it a soft V.
  2. Time for some house cleaning. All prices include shipping. Would prefer to use some form of payment that doesn’t charge fees, but If you’d like to pay using PP we can adjust accordingly. All include OHSC unless stated otherwise. Additional photos on request. 2010 PRS 25th Anniversary Mira 245 Soapbar w/Wolfetone Mean/Meaner. Regular/Standard neck profile. Condition is 9.5/10. Asking $1100 1996 Hamer Daytona. Dimario Area pickups installed in non-factory guard w/ master volume, master tone. Original guard, pickups, and electronics included. Condition is 9.5/10. Asking $800 2012 Gibson Les Paul Custom Classic. 60s neck profile. Condition is 9/10. Asking $1450 2009 EBMM 25th Anniversary. Medium C neck profile. Condition 9.5/10. Asking $1250 2003 P90 Special. SOLD 2011 Larrivee Bakersfield. Med to full C neck profile (modeled after early 50s blackguard), 1.75” nut. Condition 9.5/10. Asking $1250 2010 Larrivee RS-2. 25.5” scale. Very lightweight. One of the early runs with Larrivee Gen-3 humbuckers. Condition 9/10. Asking $675 1995 Hamer Eclipse 12. Finish has lifted from high-E side of the fretboard over the entire length, and has chipped away completely for the first four frets. It’s happened in one or two small areas on the low-E side as well. The only time I notice it while playing is where it’s completely chipped away along the first four frets, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. Numerous impressions/dings here and there. One small paint chip on the back of the neck at the 9th fret where wood is exposed (size of a match head). Ships in Hamer branded era appropriate HSC that was purchased separately. Condition a very conservative 6.5/10. Asking $650 1999 Hamer Newport. Phat Cats swapped out for TV Jones Classic Plus (Br) and TV Jones MagnaTron (N). Bigsby front roller and main string shaft were swapped for Callaham replacement parts. Tonepros bridge was swapped for Babicz Full Contact Hardware tune-a-matic replacement. Condition 8.5/10. Original pickups, bridge, and Bigsby parts are included. No longer for sale. Hamer import Jazzbox w/Bigsby. Very cool and inexpensive for what it is, but it’s simply just too big a guitar for me to handle comfortably. Condition 9.5/10. SOLD 2009 Fender Custom Shop Custom Classic Stratocaster. 22 Fret, modern C neck profile, A.Ybarra ’69 CS pickups. Condition 9.5/10. Asking $1700 2011 Gibson Custom ES-339. 30/60 neck profile. Condition 9.5/10. Asking $2600
  3. There's one discussed here
  4. Nope, no Southern Ash. Of the 22 species of ash in the genus Fraxinus, there are six that are native to swampy areas: Americana (White Ash) Berdlandieriana (Mexican Ash) Caroliniana (Carolina Ash) Pennsylvanica (Green Ash) Profunda (Pumpkin Ash, aka Red Ash) Quadrangulata (Blue Ash) Any of the above could probably be called Swamp Ash if it happened to be growing in or around a swamp. I'm not aware if the term is restricted to only the submerged part of the tree as implied by the OP, but he's correct that the lower and outer portions will be lighter in weight.
  5. Next time you find yourself ordering something from StewMac, add one of these to the cart. It gives you the leverage needed to pull the knob straight up and off rather than the back and forth wiggling as you work the knob off.
  6. I thought Scottsdale was only office space.
  7. I totally got your point. You are missing the OP's point. We don't want spec built guitars from China. We're talking about a quality built, USA made instrument. ...built BY the OP.
  8. You Michiganders sure say luthier funny Nice looking project!
  9. As much as I hate the concept of there being a "last Hamer", that's a beauty and really shows off what we all love about them. Congrats and enjoy!
  10. Ha! Also feeling inspired by this thread, I brought an early LP Classic home with me yesterday
  11. The one in question has irreversible mods already, so it's the perfect candidate. The veneer idea wouldn't work anyway as the idea includes the front/sides/back. Unfortunately, before I can have the finish "improved" I have to wait for Nathan to tire of it. Tick-tock Nathan!
  12. Cynic, normally I tell you to ignore Nathan but in this case, I agree - that O'Conner finish is unique. Not too many of them, either I'm guessing, He's referring to a plan I have for a FM Cali I'm letting him hold onto (for now ). Alternating clear and trans red Rising Sun over flame maple. Don't worry, the finish on this one is staying as is
  13. Won't really know until Monday. Barely got to strum it a few times this afternoon and the weekend is pretty booked.
  14. Just a quickie before I get back to the stuff I NEED to be doing. Brown just dropped this off for me, after our new member GTR1 and I worked out the deal
  15. Whatever the top dollar amount for a dot-necked opaque finish Cali is, this one should fetch it. Thats a badass guitar that in any normal world would easily be worth the $1600.
  16. I'm pretty! I'm desirable! I'm smart! I make up words! Please search for me! I'm pretty! I'm smart! I'm so pretty it's distracting!
  17. ...especially when it's for a "girl"
  18. It's gone up in price around 66% since it left Willcutt.
  19. I'm thinking this game has run it's course
  20. You could fit a Hamer Mirage I with traditional single coils of your choice and have a Fender scale, mahogany/koa, set-neck with a sculpted heel.
  21. Who's kid was selected to scribble the numbers on the back of the headstock?
  22. Amen to that last part. ^^This + a kajillion No offense to Axl, Dean, Jon Krammerer, or anyone else who's had their brand dropped in this thread. I can go to GC and find a dozen or more serviceable guitars at the price-point we're talking about here, but that ain't the point. My money is earmarked for something I could look at as a continuation of the Hamer legacy. Period.
  23. Holy cow! I thought the mini Vector in Mitch's photo was just added Hamer content, and the prize was only the lucite etchy thing (which for the record, I think is very cool as a stand-alone as well). But this....it's just fantastic and incredibly thoughtful and generous Mitch! It also really raises the bar for the recognition the rest of us need to come up with in another 230 days to honor your holding on to a guitar for a year!
