I'd just shoot straight with the guy. I can't imagine anyone new to guitar being so attached to their tone that they wouldn't love to hear some advice on making it better. Besides...you guys aren't allowed to get mad!

Guitar bands at an all time low in the US
cynic replied to gorch's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Guitar bands at an all time low? Dating back to when? There is plenty of great guitar music to listen to, does it really matter in the big picture if guitar goes away entirely? There was music before guitar, just as there will be in any post-guitar scenario. -
Need help tracking down guitar history...

He's aware of and acknowledges the headstock repair at 1:17 here. Could the square vs round wiring channel be a Nashville vs Kalamazoo thing? I ask because I think (Brent would know for sure) Heritage control cavities have the round channel. -

To snag a copy of the purchase order would be a nice bit of added provenance. -

Assuming there's only the one House of Guitars, you should reach out to them. According to their website and wiki, the same ownership has been in place since the 1960s. -
Agreed. I moved to L.A. County in '87 and the hair bands and hair metal was in full swing. It made for decent background music or whatever, but was never a style I could strap the headphones on and get lost in.

For the most part, it was probably when I was 25, give or take a year. By the time I was 30, browsing music stores wasn't possible anymore. As a teen and early twenty-something, I'd spend hours slowly creeping my way up and down the aisles, flipping through every record looking for something interesting. There are a smattering of post-80s bands I listen to, but it's a small percentage of what I own.

In my head I was picturing low peak to high peak, but since you're not in my head we can use trough...

I almost asked the same question, but decided depth is likely a peak to peak distance, with mix being more similar to level control.

PSA: Trans Black Talladega
cynic replied to Drendino's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
If there was any model that might cause me to ignore my aversion to trans black, it would be a Tally. -
There were quite a few subtle changes made over 78/79/80, so shots of the guitar itself may actually provide better information to narrow it down, but if the pots are original it sounds like its a 79.

My preference above all others would be to drop the vintage and keep it au naturale. Not a huge fan of the yellow/orange "vintage" thing. For my taste, this is one area Gibson is nailing with the look of their benchmark explorers. That said, I'd take vintage natural (and any other option) over '59 burst.

"I believe the Kahler is Original , but it might have been added" -
My email from Mike included the following sentence: "We will discuss any additional details of your build as we move forward"

Has there been any thought towards a price list? It might reduce some of the "I have no intention of pursuing this, but I'm curious what it would cost" quotes from being submitted.

I believe the TKL case that accepts Standards is the 8832. The 8830 fits a strat style.

I predict extremely low participation in the 2015 buy-no-guitar challenge

Did the exact same thing and realize real quick that I made a mistake and corrected it so fast I may have spelled everything correctly. No biggie...I was most excited to offer my support, but it seems there's no shortage of that!

Damn. I used the contact link within three minutes of this thread being posted to say I was in. Overlooked the part that required the quote form. Reading is fundamental!

Email already sent, just need to know where my money should be sent!

I've seen Ozzy live several times. I really liked his early solo stuff, but I never felt he was more than an average singer live. I'll add that's he a pretty weak excuse for a frontman. Then again, I also enjoyed Kiss as a kid, so my opinion apparently counts for shit.

The biggest difference is one is sold, the other is not The Mira is crazy light at just under 6lbs, 24.5" scale, jumbo frets, and the neck has less shoulder, I'd call it a soft V.
