The first Hamer I ever saw in person was an incredible flamed Aztec Gold Monaco Elite. I was at that store shopping for an Artist Custom, and asked if they had any AC's in Aztec Gold. The store owner called Hamer, and they didn't have any Artist Customs in Aztec Gold in stock, so I got Trans Red. I wonder if somebody here ended up with that Monaco Elite? It was gorgeous!

If I met Paul McCartney, all I could muster would be a Ralph Kramdenesque "hamanah, hamanah, hamanah".

I'm notoriously bad at making decisions, but you can't go wrong when you're talkin' Hamers! This Artist Custom: Then the originally-owned-by Burningyen orange Newport with Bigsby, bound f-holes and added control knob. Then I guess the Laura Press 12 String DuoTone (or maybe the Camstone DuoTone.. dang, there's that indecisiveness again!)

Artist Custom bought new, a gift from my wife! Played virtually every single day since I got it. I refinished my '75 Gibson Marauder, and gave it to my son, making it "absolutely necessary" to finally get a nice guitar. (At least that's what I told my wife). Was gonna finally get a LP. Knowing nothing about good guitars, I contacted Ed Roman, who suggested I get a Hamer instead. That led me to this place, and off I went to the nearest Hamer dealer (2 hours away).

So... is this the most viewed HFC post ever?

One Lipstick Tube's all I got. It's got a cool sound (and plays surprisingly well).

My wife bought me my Artist Custom, so that's her favorite of my modest guitar collection. She hated the Carvin amp I have (SS 100, which I ordered way back in '88 without telling her right before our wedding. It was waiting in our new apartment when we came back from our honeymoon!) She hated it so much, she actually went with to go amp shopping and helped pick out a Rivera Fandango. The clean sounds won her over. Does your significant other have a favorite among your guitars or amps? What's the reason, sound? design? color? the songs you play on it?

Cool! The first time I heard that song was when Slade was on some TV performance which was simulcast on the radio. I taped it on a Tandberg 7" reel to reel. I probably still have the tape somewhere. I think they also did Janis Joplin's "Move Over".

Didn't EVH used to run and land on his knees and slide across the stage? (I'm pretty sure he did that in 1980 or so when I saw them). Speaking of flying knee drops, how 'bout Mitch Ryder? Does Arthur Brown still use the burning helmet for "Fire"? On the other hand, I took the kids to see the Stones several years ago. My then 12 year old daughter said "I can't believe Mick is 62!" He was definitely in good shape then.
